Advanced Chronicles strategy
So I'm curious, for anyone who's beaten the higher difficulty chronicles, how did you approach it?`Since they start with a somewhat advanced board state, I'm generally experiencing quite a bit of decision paralysis. I tried the Murmur scenario, but couldn't quite warm to the idea of manuscripts (So many you get are for Praetor abilities which just don't seem particularly worth using an order on), and getting past Astaroth AND taking Pandemonium seemed pretty tough at a glance.

I'm trying the Murmer chronicle and it does seem really daunting. Not sure where to start with it. This one seems much more difficult that the previous one I tried, Andromalius, which I got a silver on.

Buy a good legion or titan, beat down them. The Beast is the most suitable, Army of the Fallen is good too.

You may need 1 good legion or titan to defense your stronghold, or you can use some Stratagems. Generally speaking, your opponent will have at most only one chance of getting close to your stronghold with legions.

Find manuscripts 2 to 3 times per turn when you don't need too many other orders.

It may looks like this:

You can also use these machines earlier. Not necessary. It is enough to use one machine before you win.

If you need help at any other chronicles, you can tell me too.

Thank you for the offer. I am having some trouble with Murmer's Chronicle. Not sure what to focus on first. My current strategy is to try and rush Charisma upgrades to 4, while finding a good legion to buy from the bazaar.

Trouble is Murmer seems to need lots of different powers leveled up to be effective. With simultaneous demands on my tribute tokens from trying to get my army in shape and leveling powers, it's hard to get anything done.

Any advice on what to focus on first?

You can find tributes 2 times per turn and upgrade Charisma to 4 first, then upgrade Prophecy to 4, then consider Deceit or Destruction. Get wrath 4 before you start the final war. if possible, get wrath 6.

If there are no special circumstances, Legion battles can be started after you have 5 to 6 orders per turn. If you start a war earlier, don't worry, it is also acceptable to find tributes in the second order each turn while move a legion first.

Legions can take specific places of power on the map to save some upgrades.

Before you're ready to war, do not get too many prestige. You may buy a Praetor before legion.

Before you have a good legion or titan, some requests can be accepted. Once you fight an archfiend, you can eliminate as many legions as possible. After one or two fights, that archfiend may try to be your vassal.

If you get stuck in a battle or duel, you can load a save from the previous turn and change your strategy. It is recommended to manually save a separate file every 10~15 turns for emergencies.

Huh.

Maybe I'll get back to actually playing the chronicles.
