Intro Poem
I keep on thinking I recognise the intro poem, but can't quite pin it down. Probably Milton, or Dante.

Anyone know for sure?

It appears to be a kind of homage or adaptation of Milton, but not direct quotation. Phrases like "Obdurate pride and steadfast hate," and "Hurled headlong flaming from th’ ethereal sky," come from Book I of Paradise Lost.

It is functionally a paraphrase of Lucifer's speech in Book I of Paradise Lost. Since it appears that Andromalius is the one giving it, that seems to make sense as their design appears based on PL's Lucifer.

Here is the passage in question:

"That we must change for Heav'n, this mournful gloom
For that celestial light? Be it so, since he
Who now is Sovran can dispose and bid
What shall be right: fardest from him is best
Whom reason hath equald, force hath made supream
Above his equals. Farewel happy Fields
Where Joy for ever dwells: Hail horrours, hail
Infernal world, and thou profoundest Hell
Receive thy new Possessor: One who brings
A mind not to be chang'd by Place or Time.
The mind is its own place, and in it self
Can make a Heav'n of Hell, a Hell of Heav'n.
What matter where, if I be still the same,
And what I should be, all but less then he
Whom Thunder hath made greater? Here at least
We shall be free; th' Almighty hath not built
Here for his envy, will not drive us hence:
Here we may reign secure, and in my choyce
To reign is worth ambition though in Hell:
Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heav'n.
But wherefore let we then our faithful friends,
Th' associates and copartners of our loss
Lye thus astonisht on th' oblivious Pool,
And call them not to share with us their part
In this unhappy Mansion, or once more
With rallied Arms to try what may be yet
Regaind in Heav'n, or what more lost in Hell?"

Thanks for the original, here's the homage. I pulled these off the auto generated lyrics for the trailer on youtube.

we rebels who defied heaven with arms
fell ahead long from athenian skies
vanquished into a dim abyssal gulf
we've forsaken
forever condemned to taste burdened air
and churning ash
wrecked for eternity
with obdurate pride and steadfast hate
we
who chose never to yield or submit
strived to make a heaven of hell
we raised our great capital pandemonium
from which his dark majesty ruled
till vanished he did from his infernal
throne
from our strongholds deep we now rage
against one another each fixing our
plans upon the throne
here at last i shall be free
to reign is worth ambition
though in this place of darkness made
visible
better to rule in hell
than serve
in heaven
