I will give that I respect the effort that the creator made in made every choice affect your path, and I don't want to disencorage them of making anything in the future. That said, I felt that the character was too much of a tumblr creepypasta type (think the Clockwork creepypasta, minus the murders, at least to the part I read), with a tragic past and psychological problems hiding behind perky smile. I will give another chance later, when I can actually focus more on it, but so far I fell that I have to give a negative review. :-/ But I am curious enough about any future project that the creator may have.

Edit: I guess that I should add a little based in the developers' answer. I was not aware of her struggles and that the game was based on it. My main problems wasn't with the fact that the protagonist struggles with mental health issues, but the way it was done, it came across a little two dimensional, and the fact that you learn about it too fast, as you learn a lot about her issues before even getting to know her as a person, and this diminishes the impact that learning about her struggles could have. But I didn't have the intention to came across as attacking you as a person, or to imply that people with mental health issues are 'creepypasta characters' (remember, even if a character is based on you, the character is not you...) I am sorry to hear about the harassment that you got over it and that discouraged you of continuing writing. I hope that things get better from now on...

as someone that somewhat understands what is going on with this game i feel like i have to put my two scents on the topic.

first off the game itself being free was probably the best move that could have been made as it's quite short depending on your choices, shorter than dating sims on gamejolt or itchi.io actually, the usage of different codes to give the players a bigger picture on the context while interesting can be quite frustrating in a dating sim game, as players of this genre often feel like reading a story and not having to solve ARG's every few minutes (a method i would have used was to utilize codes more sparingly, or allow players to walk around the house, and have one of the rooms giving you the codes in books or something), the game also doesn't really allow players to control too much of the outcome of the story, likely because it's the creator's first game and it kinda shows luckily dating sims aren't that complex thus leaving the only necessary part of a dating sim to discuss.

Amelia is a complex character as she will often avoid interacting with the player if you don't pick the right options (obviously since it's a dating game) however the complexity extends far past the usual dating sim tropes as she's not trying to be a jerk, or either are your character, and i appreciate that complexity as the smallest of options matter a lot in the long run, again the usual dating sim comes to mind but the thing is most of the choices aren't to try and please her, it's just normal questions you'd think to ask as conversation starters, or just usual human things to do when you're in the scenario presented by the game, but to her whatever you picked matters a lot even if you picked an option to scratch your ass or something.

With that last part being nothing but praise you'd think i'd reccomend this game right? well not exactly, a lot of this game only really works if you have some idea behind the creation of this game, if video games are art this game would be vent art the dating sim, and thus because i understand it's existence i can appreciate it a lot more than the average joe expecting this to be DDLC but goth. With all due respect this needed a bit more time to be more fleshed out into a game and i hope it serves as a learning experience fot it's creator if creating video games tends to be their future desires, i will admit the artstyle is great though.

Game was pretty good. I actually got a little unsettled and the fact that story of the game (or rather what happens to the character) is based on a real person. I hope life gets better for you, Amelia.

The game was taken down. I truly apologize for EVERYTHING anyone ever said. It's clear they're immature and insensitive. It's been said countless times to not listen to them but as a person who has went through (and currently still is going through) the events listed in the game, it's hard not to. All I can say is to remain strong, that I'm a huge fan of your art and artstyle (and your music making skills like I was literally jamming the entire time I was playing the game lol). I really, truly, hope that you are okay and that things get better for you, Amelia.

So when you open this game you're on the main menu, after that you can start the game, but you get only black screen and 3 messages:

1st message - "This game isn't playable anymore"
2nd message - "With that said..."
3rd message - "You close the game".
After that the game closes.

The only thing that still remains a mystery to me why the developer didn't ask Steam to remove this page completely. Well, we have what we have here rn: you can't download this game anymore (if you did - u still can't play it) and the page of this game is still not removed.

I played this on a livestream, it is an experience.

I, personally, wouldn't call it a "scary" game, but rather "creepy".
It makes you feel things out of nowhere, I enjoyed it.

I got some DDLC vibes from it and I truly liked it.

It is a very disturbing game, but you have to know the creators history to get half of it

This game has a lot of issues, mainly with the writing and art style. Its very bare bones for a dating sim, theres not much to do. Its very clearly trying to be DDLC without understanding why that game works as a horror - the pacing is non-existent, making the "scares" not scary. Instead of teasing the scenes out that are meant to be scary so its more frightening, you're kind of just thrown into the spookies. The music's volume is also extremely loud and headache inducing even before the fake glitchy tracks, which could be solved by fixing it in a program like audacity and turning the volume down. And the art style could be improved with gaining more artistic experience if anything, the line art is too uniform to look interesting and the color schemes are not interesting to look at. One part that bothered me the most is the goth girl of the game.... isn't actually a goth girl??? Shes a girl that wears black when actual goth clothes (even nu-goth) have a very specific aesthetic thats not just wearing black but I digress. The biggest problem with this game for me is the writing - the main girl you're going after doesn't really have a personality outside of "uwu im so hornyyyyy" or overly edgy and complaining about how people bullied her for wanting to get jiggy with a video game side character. Very basic writing advice online can go a long way from making this an insulting caricature of a "owo not like other girls mentally ill sad guuuurl" that traumadumps to you and thats it to a more well rounded one. Overall, my main advice for the creator to put more effort into making a fun experience with ORIGINAL characters (not bootlegs of a Mario antagonist and a very clear self insert) and an actual story as opposed to something thats sadly very bland at best and has no coherent plot whatsoever.

The main character in this game seems like a nice person who got wronged in their life. I got wronged in my life a lot too lost my job in 2010, lost my twitch partnership last year for absolutely no reason, and having haters constantly making slanderous illegal restreams and videos about me that are out of context and have no real evidence whatsoever. The bottom line is that life mistreats people who have done absolutely nothing wrong and everything correct and I hope whatever you are going through you are able to get help for and feel better.

Before I write this review, I understand that this game is based off of Amelia herself and her experiences. She's said before that she didn't make this game for attention, but for awareness and her experiences. In real life, she had been to a Psych Ward, she has been through all this stuff and is traumatized by it. I know exactly how she feels for the most part because I have been through a lot of the same. I see this as a awareness/vent project. (Correct me if I am wrong in the comments)

Overall, the game is fine. It does have pros and cons, which I will list

Pros:
The game does have it's creepy moments that can genuinely catch you off guard. The one that caught me off guard for me is when the radio broke, and when Amelia started speaking the NATO phonetic alphabet.

The art style is really well done. I'd kill to draw like this tbh

The endings you can get are pretty solid

Cons:
I feel like Amelia as a character in the game isn't exactly too fleshed out. I understand that they are based off of the creator herself, but honestly, I felt like as if I was rushed into her problems without really getting to know her. All I really know is her name and that she likes Geckos. (To be fair, I've only gotten two of the endings so far, both where Amelia dies, so maybe I need to play it more to know more about her? Not sure tbh)

In my opinion, I feel like the game relies too much on edginess. I understand things trying to get a jumpscare or two out of the player, but honestly, I feel like the edginess isn't for everyone. Especially when talking about depression, suicide, sexual abuse, etc.

I feel like a little more work needs to be done on the soundtrack. It isn't the worst, but honestly, some of the music isn't exactly too good on my ears.

I know this may seem too critical, but I honestly kinda hate the fact there's no periods at the end of sentences in this game. Maybe it's the grammar nazi inside me talking? idk lol

Lastly, I know Amelia has said before this game was not meant to be a clone of Doki Doki Literature Club, or even inspired by it. But I do agree, they have a lot of similarities. I think maybe there should be more unique and different events to make it stand out to more audiences. It may seem hard since the setting is so firmly set in this alternate dimension? (Not sure if it's even properly explained in the game) but it doesn't mean that there can be more unique and special events throughout the game.

I do think with a little improvement, this game could stand on its own two feet. I hope Amelia does update the game to make it better, because I do see a lot of potential. If Amelia sees this, please don't take it as me hating the game. I just wanted to give my honest opinion and constructive criticism so you can grow and make this game better.
