Pet Inactive Bonus

So how do the inactives bonuses from pets work in tap ninja?
If I don’t equip a pet, do I still have the inactive bonus of this pet? If yes, wouldn’t it be smart to level all pets so you have a big inactive bonus?

Only "equipped" pets grant bonuses.

That's not true. Any pet that is "not" equipped gives an "inactive bonus".

Go to COLLECTION > ANY UNEQUIPPED PET > ABILITIES... and in parenthesis it will show the "inactive bonus" the pet is currently giving you.

Also, if you go into the "settings" tab & click on the "graph" icon & scroll down to "pets", it will show you the total passive bonuses you are currently receiving (which is your active & inactive pet bonuses combined).

What is your strategy with leveling pets?

the inactive bonuses don't matter a big lot, so the only strategy out there is to get 3 active slots as soon as possible. Bond time and medal supply hinder hunting a lot of bond levels fast, so it's basically just a choice of which pets work best for the current goal

I personally run cat, mouse & dragonfly... Cat for extra quests, mouse & dragonfly for the amber. I then spend the amber on my inactive pets (giving them treats) so they gain time while not in use. The whole reason I do this is to complete the steam achievements quicker.

If your new/newer to tap ninja I recommend you change your pets so as to level them up enough to unlock a 2nd & 3rd pet slot. Otherwise it's really up to you depending on what your trying to accomplish.

My bad, I've been playing this game since almost the beginning and never even noticed that, Was that there since pets were implemented or is a later addition?

adding a thing into this comment, don't take the bond grind as completely useless as it does give you a considerable help in the late game.

An example is the beast category pets, they give elixir bonus which is the main currency used in the game for getting you progress going considering person in question has all of them unlocked and at 10 star bond 15, that's a 22,5% inactive elixir boost.
Even if you use a beast pet the others will still give a % boost that helps as any elixir you can squeeze out of the game is helpful.
