New ToS and Privacy. [16 Feb update]
https://steamcommunity.com/id/therealwyy/screenshot/2511389397289339575/

Provide an opt out method please.

Edit: The game has been updated.
"The latest update disables the anonymous user basic data collection for everyone. for the time being."
https://steamcommunity.com/games/1891700/announcements/detail/6125528194597749693

A reminder that when it comes to data collection, as per EU law, the options to accept or reject must be provided simultaneously and should be off by default.
Its up to each individual to choose whether they wish to contribute their info voluntarily or not.
Hopefully in the future this is provided properly, so we can all just focus on enjoying the game.

There is - in the Settings tab click the "info" button, then "Support" and you will see the option to do so
Laserstormelpies Feb 14, 2024 @ 8:30am
Try going to the options (the tab with the gear, hotkey 7) and then click on the ( i ) button and then click on the [Support] button. The top 2 buttons should do what you ask for.

This all seems like a new UI feature (at least to me) so I don't know what exactly those buttons do (will ask the developer at a later point in time since I'm also curious about the process behind it).

I hope this helps?
If not, there's an e-mail under the same [Support] button with which you can reach out to the developer, should you have further questions regarding you Privacy and ToS topic.

EDIT: Lol, okay, oops. Dev and I responded at the same time.

Thank-you for the reply, but the option needs to be there in order to reject by default, otherwise I'm forced to accept first, at which point data gets collected.

The buttons you can click in that menu are: "Delete collected analytics" and "Stop analytics collection" so shouldn't existing collected data be deleted then anyways? Though I don't understand why you would want to reach these buttons if you don't want to accept. I haven't tried it yet but my assumption is that opt'ing out of data collection will just take you back to the option to accept it again?
The app asking to collect basic data from your device is nothing groundbrakingly new or mischievous. It needs this data to function properly, I assume. Every other app you have on your phone, or software you have installed on your PC is collecting basic device data as well to function properly. (for example sometimes software is coded to adapt to the strength of your hardware, or the OS you use, the screensize your device has, etc. etc.)

It would be a start if those buttons were available as an option instead of just accepting.

Its a matter of principle. No one should be forced to accept any conditions before having the option to remove them. The unity privacy policy link in that screenshot is a good example, it allows you to reject everything and still browse.

If you have the opportunity to check, please update me. It would be interesting to know.

Sorry but this is whataboutism and not important. We're talking about a game, not some purpose specific software.

I only want the option to reject on the same menu, as it should be. I'm not making crazy demands or trying to start trouble.
I just want to reject giving info you don't need from me, so I can continue playing, please.

New nag-screen, great..

You should add that opt-out possibility into text of nag-screen. Or even better, this should be off by defult. And it should not sound like a statement, rather be like an offer:

Would you like to help us improve the game? Please check the settings and enable sending anonymous statistic..

I was about to drop the game, but decided to check discussions first. Nag-screens is a big no.

When conquest will be released?

It would be a good idea to add the opt-out on the front page, or complaints to the EU could get you in some pretty hefty trouble.
According to them a button like that should be prominent and easy to see, as well as they demand that it is an opt-IN and not a opt-OUT that is to be standard, so you have to say yes to you collecting data and not hiding it somewhere

The opt out/delete collected info options should be in the normal options menu.
I actually looked through different menus trying to see if there was an opt out option and I assumed there wasn't since no one would think it would be hidden in Information->Support.

This is actually highly illegal in Europe. GDPR Clearly states that you need to be able to reject , and for any data to be collected first needs consent.

Consent can only be given when there is the ability to reject, As of now there is no way to reject of moment of asking. Therefore according to law this is illegal in Europe.

I would like to see an update there properly changes the data collection screen according to laws.

Btw no a setting after somewhere stuck in menu's is not allowed. Same for the buttons for accepting or rejecting they need to be the same size no different colours etc.

No this is not allowed. (in EU)

-By default data collecting needs to be turned off.

-You can only collect data with consent.

Consent can only be given willingly, meaning you need to provide choice which means both options need to be equal. For example same size buttons same color. Making accept bigger and green while reject red and way smaller is not allowed.

-Content can not be gatekeeped behind rejecting.

So going back to the accept screen is not allowed.

For reference the fine could be up to 4% of your annual gross income, and in the last years companies are getting bigger and bigger fines and faster.

I highly suggest this gets fixed fast.

I'm happy to see I'm not the only one that dislikes having companies harvest my data. Considering how much of a timesink it was, I'm happy to have an out.

And IF people send a request asking to get to know what data is collected from them and how it is stored, they have to answer in a reasonable time ( I believe it is about a month as max ) so he could get bogged down pretty hefty IF all EU players started sending those requests

The opt out button is gone - i only see a delete collected information button.
