Max Elixir?

I noticed a stat called max elixir. Is that the most elixir you can get in your current run? And will a perfect ascension ( the 420 ember option ) potentially increase this maximum if you get close to it?

There's no 'maximum' beyond the limit of your patience, as it will take longer and longer to gain more elixir. This stat (at least if you're talking about 'Elixir Max', if not, I'm not sure where you've found this stat?) is the highest amount of elixir you've reached, either in the current ascension or throughout your entire play time.

Perfect Ascension just means that you claim all your current elixir without doing the full ascension loop and having to go back through the process of buying upgrades etc. This might be considered to increase the elixir boost to passive income if you have enough elixir that a normal ascension would also do the same (as it's based on the highest elixir value you've ascended with), but it's really not worth spending 420 amber on (imo).

I found the stat under the statistics option in the game settings menu. It lists current elixir and total elixir already as different stats. It's also not the highest elixir I've ever achieved, it seems to be double that. I suppose I'll find out sooner or later!

Good catch - I'm pretty sure that the perfect ascension purchase is going to work as I expect, but let me know (if you try it!).
I wonder if Elixir Max is the maximum you can reach through offline/away gains?

The Max Elixir is just a visual statistic to show what was the most Elixir you have had at one time.
So Perfect Ascension (or the regular one) would increase that statistic if your current Elixir count increases beyond it.

Might need a rethink on the name then - I still didn't get it until I started typing out numbers for why I thought that was wrong. Most Elixir Stored perhaps? Or have it display the current value when swapping to the Ascension stats (since you can spend or gain elixir without ascending)?
