Devs needs time to add content. It's ok, either be into it and play shorter ascensions or take a break and come back later after patches have been released.
Early on you can get like +1 coins from enemies in upgrades and in tier 10 its like 0.1 per upgrade. Yet the cost of upgrades goes up at a very high pace, the upgrades that can be bought are way to weak in the later tiers.
I'm not getting monetary increases since progress is so slow, so it's just manual grinding of resets, levelling up all the buildings and research over and over to redeem the 10-15b I can reliably get, and it's just... boring. And a day of offline earning gets maybe 5b, which could be made from half an hour of focused gameplay... Yeah, just boring at this point.
Strategy:
- Play actively and prioritize quick ascensions for about 5~7e9 elixirs. With time you'll be able to increase that number to 7e9~1e10.
- You can get that amount in less than 10 minutes, maybe even closer to 5 min.
- After you acquire new skills and are able to purchase the 100th treasury more easily, you might want to push to 2e10.
- If you can leave the game running and come back every 10~15 minutes to improve research (or 1x/10x treasuries) and recover energy manually, you might want to push one single ascension a bit higher over 1 or 2 days maybe so you get a better legacy bonus (my record so far is 3.62e10).
- As for skill order, I went Pressure Points, Drums, then went back for the 3 skills on the lower row, and now I'm on my way to getting Diamond Cutting last.
Reminders:
- Forget about getting anything useful from idling with the game closed. Whatever you get is ridiculously low for any progression. So basically at this point we don't have a idle game anymore.
- Quick ascensions are the best way for getting the needed elixirs.
- When playing actively, save Hooks for Shieldbearers, and Shuriken Vortex for fireflies (the SV bonus applies!)
Star upgrades (OUTDATED):
- I'd recommend NOT having any points in Respectable Kumite or Stability.
- Only invest in Bigger Treasury Vaults AFTER you've purchased everything else.
- Upon unlocking tier 4...
1. Unlock Flying Keys
2. Unlock Gemstone Fever
3, Go back to tier 3 until you unlock tier 5. Prioritze tier 5 asap.
4. Finish tier 3 (if you still need to)
5. Max Call to Arms
6. Max Rabbit's Foot
7. Get the last skill you've just unlocked (Haiku Poetry)
8. Spend the remaining points on Bigger Treasury Vaults only because the other 2 skills are useless.
There's only one
I have to say that the update, while adding a relatively large amount of content, especially considering it's a free idle game, has not done anyhting to address this problem. The additional star updates don't really do much in terms of helping progression pre-Shrine (can't say anything about a post-Shrine experience). The dimishing return on elixir gain is still hitting way, way too hard. It simply doesn't matter if I have 35, 40 or 45 NDC, wenn it goes completely flat past 80B. The 30m you get for quests is pitiful (So far I'm obviously on Quest level 1, so this might change).
If that's how it's supposed to be, fine, and apparently there's people who grind through this. I reckon that for 99% of players it's just not rewarding enough after a certain point, especially since there is practically no idle component (update didn't help this). You can't even P2W because just added CPS doesn't really help either, when the coins don't return any elixir.
