Revert this change
"Added: Arsenal has items that are rank-locked. Certain items are gated behind a specific rank, and arsenals cannot be used if a player has the Renegade rank." This is idiotic and anti gamer. There is absolutely 0 reason why anyone is dictating to others what they can/can't use for their loadouts. I swear to god if this isn't changed i'm simply going to go into the game, cap the first person i see geared up, and take their stuff no F's given. You're not going to tell me what i can and can't use and even ban me from essentially using the arsenal if i become a renegade which is incredibly easy to do in this game. YOU made it so friendly fire was on, YOU made it so we can take and use enemy uniforms/vehicles and now we're going to be punished if mistakes happen? Nahh I'm good. If you're trying to ensure people only play this modded i guarantee you that you're succeeding.

Actually, seems pretty fair to me. Most people have zero issue with renegade. Maybe some balancing or gameplay things they should look at, perhaps some slight tweaks to camo style and armband visibility, but seems just fine as far as actual features go.

I shouldn’t have to wait to be a certain rank to use anything. If they keep it this way like I said I’ll simply wait to run into someone geared up so I can take their stuff. People will always find ways around this bs.

Do not revert this change. The only people that have an issue with this forgot they were buying a SIM.

Right and the majority of you seem to not know the standard soldiers are supposed to carry. 60-80lbs of gear is THE STANDARD. The way the game is now falls in line with that. My whole load out of 4 rpgs, 40 40mm, as well as mags and bandages weighs just under 60lbs. That is in line with modern day military.

But weight measure in the game is in kg. So if you are gearing up to say 65 in the game, that is over 143 pounds.

Hmm that is a good point. The weight for items in general doesn’t seem right imo they’re all over the place. Like I swear there’s times things bug out and my map ends up weighing as much as a radio.

You also seem to not understand that the standard soldier does not get to dictate their own gear. that is decided by higher-ups. You have more than a realistic amount of freedom already, even with some of the equipment being rank-locked. I was a Grenadier in the CF, but that was decided for me based on the needs of my unit and my ability. I did not get to decide to carry the M203 on my own.

They're still required to be able to carry a certain amount regardless. If you can't carry your gear which would 100% be 60-80lbs minimum as well as a soldier on your shoulders odds are you're not making it in the infantry.

we are aware its a sim, i am on board for this rank system and the weight system and everything. the concept is good but what it is right now is too much. hopefully its dialled back a bit. really my main problem is the weapons like the m16 carbine being locked until LT
which no matter what way you spin it is whack asf. give people the freedom of their loadout

arma 3 didnt lock up the arsenal why tf are we doing it now
You'll be happy to know there's 10+ 128 slot player servers running their own community based conflict servers, which can set their own rules regarding arsenal. The ranking system is a bit too harsh for some guns, but It makes sense for like mortars and machine guns, it prevents 100% of the team from using all machine guns or all snipers etc

there is a lot of fail here.

dude wants to carry 60-80 lbs doesn't realize it is in kilograms, complains that he can't use what he wants as a private (then go earn some experience) and use what you want.

everyone should be proficient at using the default loadouts, I mean you won't be spawning on my radio any other way.

100% agree. Learn to benefit your team with the most basic loadout. once you know what your doing you will have no problem reaching corporal and above, and you can choose whatever you want. If you don't like the rank-gating of gear, it's pretty revealing about your ability to play the game.
