Dark Alliance sold around 1 and a half million copies on Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube combined. DA2 sold under 1 million on Xbox and PS2 combined. Both DA games have lower review scores as well.
More people bought BG3 Early Access than bought DA and DA2 combined.
If people play table D&D, seeing stuff they might have heard or played about in-game is fun.
