every time when i try to escape the game crashes in the loading screen to the next area

Im having the same issue trying to leave lab 2.

Same here. I've tried different save files and it still crashes. I don't really want to do Bim's idea of starting a whole new game just to get past this one obstacle.

I can't guarantee this would work, but maybe you guys could work around this by using the cheat menu to warp back to Baldur's Gate. Just get to the end as you normally would, but instead of using the stairs to exit the level, bring up the cheat menu to exit the level.

I may be misremembering, but I do seem to remember this being an issue sometimes in the original. The cheat menu is accessed by holding down L1 + R1, all the ABXY buttons, then pressing start.

Funny, I had the same idea and tried that. It does work. However, initially when you warp out it says you're still in combat. So I warped into Omduil's Manor, and that seems to break the combat portion. So you can save normally and continue on.

i tried that, you can warp but you missing a trigger or something, i would never leave combat and couldnt save. Best advice is start a new game.

... and I do encounter "Still in combat" message, then i warp into Omduil's Manor as suggested by Kaijucifer. It works for me
