How to SAVE???

I'm playing on a Macbook, I'm trying to save the game and I cannot figure out how. I hit the escape button and get a menu that includes resume and quit but no save option. And when I try to quit it warns me I'll lose my progress because it's unsaved... But HOW to save??? Please help thanks
