The Fate of Oscar?

So I've finished this very fun game, though I have not gotten all of the origami yet. Did I miss it or did we not get any clues as to the fate of Oscar after his disappearance?

Hey, it's very very subtle.

After completing the game, you go to the bridge scene in the village. In it there is a Stag with the reflection of Oscar. This is supposed to represent his spirit that lives on and guides you through the world, after he fell into the river and presumably drowned.

Wha?! Did not realize that about Oscar. I assumed he was stuck in the space time continuum.

The name itself holds a clue about its bearer, as the etymological meaning of "Oscar" is "deer friend".
