[STEAM DECK] Audio issues
Trying to load this game on the deck and the audio just crackles.

Anyone know of a fix for this?

Same here. Tried GE Proton 9 20. No improvements.
The game runs great on the Deck with FSR3 and frame gen, tho.

Valve cheaped out on the CPU.
A better CPU is the fix.

Okay, thank you!

When audio crackles during gaming is usually a sign of the CPU struggling and latency. What audio options are set in game? Try either basic stereo or even mono.

What resolution are you running at? What OS are you using?

From the multiple videos I have just watched. The Steam Deck is not crackling for this game. Maybe you have defective or blown out speakers? Or your settings are off.

For anyone with the same issue, change the fps cap to 30. Anything higher and the audio just crackles (but frames are still good)

It's playable at 30 fps but...eeeh. solves the audio issues anyway

Are you not using FSR? Did you not see the video I posted? They getting over 70 FPS in some scenes and almost 60 outside. No audio crackling.

Having to settle for 30 when the game can do so much more just seems like a terrible compromise.

I tried the settings yeah and for some reason it's not working on mine.
They're using the OLED and I'm using OLED but, nope. Mines just not having it for some reason :(
I'll try a few more things tonight and see what happens

Yeah. I've not tweaked the OLED in any way. Just out of the box

Other suggestions from Steam:

Changing the ingame Audio setting ''Latency'' to Medium instead of auto seems to have solved it for me

in the Audio options under "Compatibility", I had to put "Output Mode" to "Traditional" to fix it.

Yup - proton 8.0-5 did the trick! Thanks all!

I hate to resurrect this, I'm on 8.0-5, does any bit of rain just make the game sound like complete garbage or did the crackling come back to stay?
