why does an 8gb update take so long?

i have pretty good download speed and its took and hour to update about 40 mins to patch and now its installing what is this game

cause it also depends on your cpu and storage speed

its a steam issue most larger patches have this issue. i have a really good system but sometimes its quicker for me to redownload the whole game then to patch.

i had issues with destiny 2 not this game but i expect many people will run into these issues more and more

Since there's a new update this morning, the servers are probably very busy with hundreds or thousands downloading the new patch, which would explain why the download is taking so long.

I don't know if this is an german issue on Steam, but since a few months i can't download a game without permanently interrupts every few percent of download progress. Even a server jumping last only for further several percent. Updates are a completely disaster. It's the same problem on three different accounts, while EPic, UbiConnect or EA run fine. Has everybody else similar issues ?

This specific issue can be solved by clearing the download cache in many cases. Maybe helps you, too.
Click on Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache
