The Last of Us™ Part I
531.61 Nvidia Driver is out (Fix for 30 series included).
As the title says, a new WHQL driver has come out from Nvidia. It incorporates the fix that came with the hotfix driver. (Feel free to ignore that driver now.) WHQL's are of course for all cards. So, install it and see how you go. Don't shoot the messenger if it doesn't fix your issue, I'm just saying it's out.

After this patch, 17 % shaders built after 35 mins so far
That doesn't sound good. Hopefully if Iron Galaxy test the driver before doing another patch, they may get that down a bit. it won't be good if, every time they fix something, a new driver comes along and breaks things again.

It's also a bit bad when a 'game ready driver' is released only days before the game is as the devs can't test it to see if it actually is as ready as its made out to be.

Did you notice any improvement?
Hoping to get some form of improvement, installed 531.61, waited around 30 minutes on shader building (5800X/64GB RAM/3070Ti/NVMe), loaded a save, crashed to desktop after 5 minutes.

That's about it.

Oh boy! I'm excited for another hour long shader compilation!
I'm on 90% after 23 minutes and it's going faster on this last bit

Another hours of shader compilation? At least mine does it in about 29 mins...

2+ hours for me. I may just finish the game before upgrading my drivers.
I don't get this game, after installing the drivers the game though running a bit slower fps wise, seemed to have fixed all of the graphical errors I was experiencing (to the point it felt like a completely new game to me). However, after just quickly going back into the game just now, all of the glitches are back. :steamfacepalm:

With the 531.61 new driver, shader was compiled about 20 minutes. (13900K + RTX4090)
But at 6 or 7%, it was crushed. I started again and completed.

In my playing, no issue.
Only it was still crushed when I back to the main menu from playing the game or watching the movie.

Throwing shade...rs. I'm so glad I kept my 360 CLC when I went from my i7 7700k OC to 5.0 to my 5600X. She's gonna need all that sweet water splashed on her butt to keep her cool for the next half hour of compiling.
a 360mm AiO is way way overkill for a 5600x. Totally unnecessary. A $50 air cooler would do the same thing.

Depends. If you do a lot of AVX or heavy CPU computing tasks, it's useful cause you can push the CPU harder for longer before temperature throttling. But otherwise, yea you mostly don't get advantages there with that size AIO. 280mm is about just as good and is usually quieter and cheaper.

A 280mm is equally as unnecessary. I'm aware of the purpose of a cooler, are you aware it's only a 65wat tdp cpu?

No I am aware. You have a lot of options for cooling. Is a 280mm AIO unnecessary? Not entirely. If it's not overworked and stays running well, you can get some use of it when you upgrade to a new CPU. Same with the 360 in this case. Yea, the pump will degrade over time, most AIOs usually have 5 year lifespan, 10 if it's really good quality. Depending on when they upgrade the AIO is still useful.
