How can I fix this?
"It appears that the last of us part 1 did not quit properly, Do you want to run in the safe mode"

- I try to reinstall the game, but didn't work.
- I updated both of the windows and drivers, still not working.

Please help me! I really want to play this game.
Thanks in advance!

Are you exiting the game normally?

Once you exit the game, does Steam still show the game as running?

Are you not letting it fully close before you exit Steam or shutdown the computer?

I didn’t exit the game properly. I was in a hurry, so I just shut down the computer.

It is driver issue I had the same issue tried the same things. I uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers using DDU which worked for me and now I can play the game without any issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PciMRjwIxSM&t=382s , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XlwirtWs_c&t=253s. You can watch these to see how you can do it. I would recommend you choose the option to pause windows update in DDU when using it and run Windows in safe mode when uninstalling the drivers and download the latest driver installation file from the GPU website whichever one you use. Mostly this issue is happening with NVIDIA cards so I'm assuming you have one too. Go through both the videos to make sure you know how to do the process since they are both very helpful. This should work for you, it did for me atleast.

Have Fun!!!

Janks with NIVIDIA cards who only buy them cuz some paid reviewer recommended them. I don't feel bad for them but I wish I could help them out. Hopefully you can reinstall the game and delete all your save files then start from scratch.

Ok, next time exit the game properly, and this issue should go away.
