Someone made a Vulkan mod (possible big performance boost)

like to report having alot better time with this mod, the devs should hire the modder to fix their mess

I just saw that, interesting. Doesn't say it's entirely without issues though. If the creator is prepared to work on it, this could be a great mod. If properly implemented, games can run really well in Vulkan, often better than DX. Breakpoint and RDR2 really shone with Vulkan.

There's also one to fix shader cache size via Nvidia Profile Inspector.

I don't think the devs had the chance to actually implement Vulkan or DX12 properly. Even though Vulkan is fairly easy itself to mod into a game, it's not always simple. I can totally see them working it in as an optimization option for the older hardware that are running the game. A proper DX12 instead of DX11on12 would benefit the rest of the PC users.

I tried the mod but i crashed upwards of 40 times trying to build shaders and only got to like 42%, i know it says it will crash a few times but i was doing it for hours.

It can be like that sometimes. Keep trying. It is totally worth it.

I also had like 15 crashes the second time. The first time I tried, I had like 4 crashes. I don't know what makes the difference since my hardware was the same but maybe a PC restart can help.

Yea, after a few crashes, you'll wanna restart your PC cause you're definitely not recovering any of the memory leak memory usage after a crash. Restart will fix that right up.

Ye Bitdefender also says its clean. Someone can even download these files from their repos on github directly anyway. Nothing shady here.

I mean it's also on Nexus, if it had a virus somehow, it'd get taken down pretty quick. I'm going to try this out and see how it goes.
