Anyone else feel PC gaming is irrelevant now?
We only ever get excited for console ports which most of the time turn out to be unoptimized versions and release way too late after the console launches. We don't really have any real exclusives other than obscure indie games. We buy pc parts more expensive than an entire console but have to deal with stutters and crashes anyway.

It really does kind of feel pointless to game on PC nowadays.

All the console ports run fine on my system so no, not irrelevant, last of us getting a solid 55-85fps at Ultra 4k, the Uncharted game, solid 80-100fps maxed at 4k, spiderman remastered, same thing, amazing performance and FPS..

I feel that most "PC Gamers" just don't know how to properly maintain their systems, they just use it like it's a console, instead of cleaning the OS of junk, keeping the OS and drivers up to date, testing it on each game and tweak it to run a good as possible, modifying bios settings, using a dedicated virtual memory swap space on a m.2 SSD thats double the size of system ram, checking for corrupt core windows system files with SFC scan, oh and spraying out all the dust and stuff from your case fans....etc

i am sure *Console brats* think the same about not having world of warcraft/the Warcraft series (rts) / SWTOR/LOTRO/DDO/ and MANY of our quote/unquote unoptimised and indy games - get over it

Don't worry, the 4090 dude bros will tell you it runs fine on their PC ignoring that 99.9% don't have a 4090

What they don't realise is if it ports are so bad that only 1% of hardware came run it games aren't going to make money. This game has already flopped because people on weaker hardware have kept away or refunded, so the more flops, the less companies will bother releasing games on PC

PC gaming is on a big downfall

I saw a stream where the game dropped to 62fps on a 4090. It all feels like one big joke.

It was always like that or worse.
Sony could wait with ps5 ports to the end of generation like they did with Horizon and God of War. People would prise the ports for running so well on a 10x stronger PC like they do prise ps4 ports.

I’m sure the game will work flawlessly in few years even on a low tier nvidia 6060 with 16GB of vram.

The bigger issue is the CPU usage, not vram

If anything it's the other way around. The entire purpose of console exclusives was to attract customers but now they all ultimately end up on PC, at least most of them these days. Besides no one gets on PC for the exclusives, that's the weirdest view to take on the PC vs Console debate. It's always been about modularity, freedom, and a passion for computers or some combination of the three. I also don't get the crashing thing, I always buy the highest end stuff when I upgrade and rarely have hardware issues, and crashes are even rarer. In fact the only time I ever have consistent issues with crashes are when ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ports come to PC.

In terms of the price, that's the beauty of PC you can choose to make a rig as cheap or as expensive as you want; there are entire communities dedicated to just making the best performing PCs for the fewest bucks and others dedicated to min-maxing their NASA computers. Console gaming is for casual consumers, PC gaming is for enthusiasts this has always been the primary difference and is why console players debate their purchases along the lines of exclusives and PC gamers debate hardware and software. There are other things as well such as modding being far superior on PC or not having to pay absurd arbitrary fees such as PS plus or Xbox Live.

Overall I think console is what's losing it's place not PC. Nearly everything is better on this side of things in my opinion and I have everything from a switch to a PC. Hell even with a play-station and an Xbox I always come back to PC and barely touch the others, I didn't even upgrade to this generation because of how pointless they seem to me. The only console maybe worth getting is Switch but even that is just because nintendo refuses to port anything and the switch is just super practical for the kind of games they release on that system; anything else just seems like a waste to me.

Bashing 4090 owners has what to do with anything? apart from show a bitter side to your personality!

I agree games should absolutely be released in far better shape. Having said that though, we all know in this day and age that buying any game on release day is a risk. If launch issues are that irritating to you (Which you a fully entitled to be irritated), then maybe just wait a month or so before buying. The game is going nowhere and will only get better.
