FIX FOR CONSTANT CRASHES IN GAME. WORKING SOLUTION...READ HERE!!!
The trick is to automatically empty the stanby list via Task Scheduler every 5 minutes through EmptyStandbyList.exe
Here is the link to the tutorial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAxuGjdahd0&ab_channel=TechBern

*edit*
link to EmptyStandbyList.exe removed...you have to look it up for yourselves because otherwise you think I send viruses...(idiots)

Tested and works!! I was able to play the game without crashing for a long time. Basically windows does not automatically empty the ram standby list and this causes it to saturate because The Last of us uses a lot of ram memory (I have 32 gb and the game uses more than 20 gb). I had tried everything...I also tried using different nvidia drivers...but the result was always the same. Please tell me if this solves your problem of constant crashes. :-)

Yeah, let me jump right on a random download that used to be from a secure source, but now you are saying is no longer available? Steam should take a look at your link to make sure that you aren't including anything suspicious with your download. I highly doubt this even fixes the crashes, as it was only used to reduce stuttering in previous versions of Windows.

The issue is building shaders. Whatever the game does building shaders crashes graphics drivers. If you play the game without waiting on the main screen it'll go faster and you'll not crash 24/7. Gameplay will be choppier but once it's done the crashing should stop.

To anyone reading; I wouldn't click on those links.

Simfileshare is fine; it's used in The Sims community for sharing custom content/mods. The Sims 2 in particular has RAM issues in Win10, fixed by emptying the standby list, which is why the file is hosted on there. No idea if it fixes anything in TLOU though

You are very, very wrong. If you "skip" compiling the shaders, they'll keep compiling in the background, pushing your CPU to 100%. And the game crashes anyway, whether the shaders have finished compiling or not.

Solution close web browser while playing, web browsers are resource hogs, technically not wrong :)

This looks really shady. A far better solution is to use ISLC to automatically purge the standby memory when it reaches a certain percentage of your total system RAM:

https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ISLCw

I enable custom timer resolution and set wanted timer resolution to 0.5. I then set "the list size is at least" to 1024 and "free memory is lower than" to 8196.

Bro your are all unfounded conjecture, I can understand that you don't trust an external link...this is a favor I do you so you don't have to search for the file needed for this tuorial. Unfortunately, the link provided by the author of the video is no longer working. But little do I care...for my computer this solution has been the best so far...if you don't even want to try it that's your problem!

After the latest patch i had no issues (except for partial low framerate on the outside world). Yesterday i had 4 crashes, one of them inside the menu.

I have a checked the integrity of the game files (https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/25561), build the shader again and than it worked again for hours.
