yea, amd doesn't have rebar, it's nvidia feature

"If it says “No”, please ensure Resizable BAR is enabled in your motherboard’s BIOS interface and reboot your PC." <--- lol, nothing on the site you posted says anything about whitelisted to automatically use rebar. if you disable it, its disabled period. it doesn't just suddenly reenable if you disable it through the bios

i don't have crashes with it on, shrug

every build is different, even the way each pc gamer has their drives and OS setup. i had crashes more often than i have seen anybody else have them, it was happening right on loading my game save and now its stopped.

I told you re-bar bios on and require software profile also be turned on, did you not read my guy. Also, I bet you think that your re-bar is now also off for Flight sim nope it was never on for flight sim nor for this game ever. So if you turn if off in the bios made no difference, your crash doesn't have anything do with re-bar only if you forced it on using nvidia inspector.

What? the guy that posted said Re-bar not AMD SAM, WTF are you on about AMD? Did you throw logic out of the window.

yeah, you're correct

dont think resizalbe bar was causing my crash. I did however change the setting right below it (mmio high granularity size) from 256g to 1024g. went from playing 20min crash to over 1hr no crash.

msi x299 m7 gaming ack, i9 7920x, rtx 3090, 64gig ram

ReBar and SAM are the same thing with two different names, just like XMP, DOCP and EXPO.

With latest patch and resizable bar on as always, havent experienced any crashes since. Shader compilation time has also drastically improved.

Hope there is still improvement for those with mid tier PCs who seem to be suffering the most from the steep vram usage and system memory usage. This needs addressing badly.

It just has a different name, but technology is the same nonetheless. For AMD it's called SAM

You know what... This may be an explanation why downgrading nVidia drivers helps with game stability for some players: latest nVidia drivers have an inspector profile for the game with rebar enabled (I didn't check but just a wild guess). Downgrading the driver will just disable the rebar for the game.

@OP Can you try re-enabling the resizable bar in the BIOS and then disabling it in the game profile using the nVidia inspector if it's enabled there? Also do you currently have latest nVidia driver version?

I turned off resizable bar and play for 1.30 hours and 1 crash. But no other apps in background.

AMD came with rebar support then Nvidia added it

ReBAR has to be enabled with nvidia profile inspector for the game, else it's automaticly off.

https://youtu.be/1zYjoLbrDF4?t=174

But it's 26 games now that support it, not 19 anymore like in the video.

Resizable bar works just fine on my system, also have above 4g decoding mmio limit set to 4tb.

And it's an AMD system, I noticed messing with the MMIO setting will oddly change how the CPU performs as well as the GPU.

Ok, so I verified. Apparently Resizable BAR is NOT turned on in the nVidia profile for this game. So turning it on and off in the BIOS does absolutely nothing - placebo, because game is not using it at all.
