Had this exact issue since day one. Posted on here asking for any advice but never get a reply. Someone advised installing the game on C drive temporarily as this fixed their issue but haven't had time to test yet. I think we are just SOL for now.

PC specs, OS, OS build and GPU driver version ?

Sometimes game not starting means your HW/system/driver is not supported.

Give how hard this games hits my 12 core Ryzen 9 5900x, your CPU could be the issue. Have a look what Task Manager says your CPU is doing when you open the game.

The CPU doesn't support AVX. Refund the game if you don't want to upgrade.

Have y'all installed the latest driver for your video card from the manufacturer's website? That turned out to be my "won't run/crashes" problem.

Refund it.

still zero answers. i was able to play on day one, but the patch the next day destroyed my ability to play. i get a crash as the firefly medallion is spinning every time i launch, despite reinstalling, moving install drives, and even modifying settings in the nvidia inspector. i have a 3070, i7 12700k, and 16gb ram, and im seeing people with lower specs saying its fine.

Bought, this is my first time. Finished installing. Loaded it up. Was black. Thought it was an issue. Nope. The coin spinning popped up. So whatever your issue is, must be your hardware. If everyone has the same patch notes and number, then really, what’s the issue?

Not saying it’s because you’re running on a possibly potato PC, or your fanboyism decision to buy Intel over AMD, or Nvidia over Radeon, but certain hardwares maybe can run LoU better than others. If it can be fixed, then devs needs to fix it and send out a patch.

i7 3770
16gb ram
zotac 1080
win10 build 19044

i had this problem too for days. updated GPU drivers. updated win10. i tried tlou and tlou-l. it doesn't start. crash dumps kept being made. at first I thought there were other apps interfering. so I turned off msi afterburner, sandboxie . etc etc. i removed other USB devices except for mouse and keyboard but nothing worked.

my cmos battery died months ago and im lazy to replace it. so everyday my bios setting is always at default. i always tinkered with hd/ssd settings for I start windows. all this time I knew that the i-gpu was always enabled along with my 1080. so today as I went into the bios. i disabled the i-gpu and voila when I clicked on the last of us it started, passed thru the rotating coin and now I'm sitting at main menu waiting for the shaders to finish. i haven't gone past the main menu yet so who knows whats gonna happen on my end next. at least its starting now..

To anyone wondering what's in their computer, hit the windows key, type dxdiag, and hit enter. On the first page is Processor and Memory. The tab at the top for display will show your GPU.
