Here's a fix for poor performance on PC.
Buy a PS5, seriously.
Play this game on the hardware it was made for.
The PS5 is a supercharged PC, you have to spend roughly $2000 on a graphics card alone to match its performance. So, you're actually saving money by buying a PS5.

So I tested it out, everything on ultra, 4k rendering and getting about 55 fps. PS5 can't even come close to something like that.

PS5 4k mode is like medium settings, 30 fps, and according to Digital Foundry, drops to like 26 fps. So yeah, not even close to pc.

No one is disputing that a top pc outperforms a ps5, that’s stating the obvious

Ummmm, this whole thread is about someone saying you'd need a 2k pc just to match the ps5, so it's not obvious to some.

PS 5 is hardware bound so eventually it gets over taken by PC as on that platform you can in most cases just switch from graphics card as long as your motherboard can support that new card you are all set.

I got a PS5... for my girlfriends 10 year old.

He see's the PC's I build and begs for one but they are 2 - 4k so he cant have one just yet... poor kid!

Stop lying. I've tried both native and quality dlss, and I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. The feature truly is amazing. You only really start to see a difference if I do it on performance mode.

Try glasses

I bet you can't tell which is 4k, and which is 4k using Radeon's FSR running at the quality mode.

Um no waste of money.
THIS I can go on and on about why a console is bad and frankly given you are spending literalyl $70 per game on a playstation you're gonna burn through that entire PC building budget just to buy ten games. You also can't upgrade it. Just because it's more efficient than an Amazon scambuilt doesn't make it the best deal. If anything PS5 just proves why you should buy a Radeon graphics card instead. 6800XT is fairly affordable now, and lower end is cheap now. Also you will get enough VRAM to be playable at 1440p. The problem literally is nVidia.

TLOU is blurry mess on PS5 at performance mode.

Oh stop it, my pc can be built for much less than 2k, and I'm playing the game at 4k, mix of high/ultra visuals, buttery smooth gameplay. You don't get 4k solid 60 fps at high/ultra on PS5.
which PC do you have?

Running a 7900 which I just purchases for 800, and last of us was free with the purchase.
But my pc was built years ago for like 1200 with an amd 2060. So, I spent about 2k....but that's 2 video cards in that cost.

So if I don't factor in the 2060, then yeah, my pc is less than 2k in cost, and that's me running the game in ultra, 4k with Radeon's FSR at quality mode. A very far cry from "you need a 2k pc just to match ps5".

You wouldn't though. But you literally don't. And it only even costs that much because I guarantee you some dweeb is looking at Intel+nVidia on PC partpicker and wondering why things are so expensive lol. Intel boards are basically a scam now just not as bad as nVidia is openly scamming everybody. It's the same thing like Apple, Apple preys upon dumb liberal boomers who haven't got any clue what a computer is or how it works, I asked two of them and they literally did not know what a HDD or SSD is I ♥♥♥♥ you not. These are people so ignorant they literally haven't got any clue what is a SSD or what is RAM and they don't want to learn. That is the mindstate of the kind of person that buys an RTX card, they got suckered in by the marketing and so needlessly waste money they don't have on something bad that they don't need. It's quite easy building a $1200 PC using AMD/Radeon that completely blows the PS5 out of the water and has massive utility and can play any game. The only thing that's a challenge is building a $400-500 that outperforms the Playstation 5 but even then I'd rather have a cheap $400 converted office PC with a GTX 980ti and 4770k or something like that to play PC games on and use the internet than a console. Worthabuy singing "yeah yeah it's a console console console port" kicks in. I don't like most console games anyway so it's a waste of money, and that $500 pricetag's gonna balloon up real fast considering I don't own a TV nor do I intend on ever buying a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Roku microchipped and censored and tracked TV, and then I'm gonna have to start out from zero. So while I have hundreds and hudnreds of games on GOG and Steam, I'm going to be starting out at just 0 console games. Which means I'd have to pay for those at price gouged retail prices. Which means I'd literally have to spend as much money as it'd cost me to buy a brand new midrange PC just to get a collection of a dozen console games.

Those costs add up. And you're forgetting that cost of TV and speakers, and all the games we'd need to buy. It's like how printer companies make their money not by selling printers but by charging for ink, they'll sell you one cheapish printer but then it costs you an arm and a leg to keep replacing the few drops of printer ink. That's what a console does. It effectively makes the upfront cost very cheap but makes it cost more altogether, like a credit card.

Anyone who recommends people to buy consoles with 4 exclusives is a horrible person.

But I'm laughing at the people saying the PS5 does somethings better than PC (while being a PC itself, using the same arquitecture). So I guess it gets balanced out.

I don't understand why you would buy a brand new high end Radeon GPU only to ruin with upscaling? I tried FSR on much older hardware I'll grant you and while it worked like a charm for fps it just wasn't worth it, to me I play for high fidelity and both FSR and DLSS have too many artifacting and blurring display problems. Which doesn't make sense, I'd buy a card that high end just so I can get great framerates at 4k without having to ruin everything with upscaler. Does TLoU really run that poorly at 4k you need to enable FSR with a 7900XT?

****well, nevermind, I guess Steam doesn't allow me to post links.

The reason resolution upscaling tech like dlss is being pushed so hard is because gpus companies like nvidia are in cahoots with companies selling you 4k tvs and monitors

They want you to go out and buy that shiny new 4k tv with your PS5 or 4k monitor with your new gpu

But at the same time 4k native rendering is incredibly demanding, so upscaling is the solution and here’s the best bit

There is no law that stops companies advertising 4k on their products when it’s not real 4k

The ps4 pro was advertised as a 4k machine and the ps5 box literally has an 8k logo on the box. Heck nvidia marketed the 4090 as an 8k card, that’s the absurdity of the situation

Straight up false advertising but no law or regulation that stops them from doing so. If it’s not native, it’s not 4k and no upscaler will produce the clarity of a native image

Exactly this. I laugh my ass off when I hear people say that you need to spend 3K+ for a gaming pc. I've been building gaming PCs since the mid 90s, and have never spent alot. Most of my gaming PCs that I've built have been sub 1k in cost.

Why not, to me there's literally no difference in visuals in what I see. I'm playing my games in ultra, and drop about 5 fps if I turn FSR off. And that's just for that one game. My other games I'm maxed out. For example, I'm playing Dead Space, 4k, ultra, ray tracing on, FSR turned off. But again, even in that game, if I turn it on, I literally don't see a difference.

Now, I'm not saying there isn't a difference, but seriously, it must be so minute, because I don't notice a difference, and I'm a graphics snob. But I've tried playing with the settings so much, I really can't tell, unless I drop FSR to something like performance setting instead of quality.

So no, it doesn't run poorly. I'm here telling you I play the game at ULTRA settings 4k (with FSR set to quality).
