Even on ultra, game looks jagged and pixelated
As the title says, I am playing on a mix of ultra/high settings at 1440p and the game looks jagged, and pixelated especially in shadows and reflections. I have DLSS off, I have FSR off, I am using the default setting. I have found the game looks worse using FSR/DLSS (could just be me).

It's not your problem. I saw some gameplay on my nephew's pc even with all ultra setting (30-40 fps mind u), the game still look outdated.
Not as impressive as The Plague Tale: Requiem or The Callisto Protocol.

Shadows and reflections seem to be bugged since that jagginess is not present in the PS5 version. You can turn off SSR to get rid of the jaggied reflections. No fix for the shadows unfortunately.

Awesome, thanks for the response guys. Appreciate the feedback. Was not sure if it was just me or not. I do own a ps5, but I rarely use it and do not want to buy this game for the 4th time (ps3, ps4, pc) so glad to know it is at least a known issue so that way it can get fixed.

On ps5 it looks phenomenal.

Cool story, don’t care considering my ps5 has been collecting dust since 2020. But hey, to each their own I guess. But considering the topic of this forum, I’m just going to hit you with that report button because you’re derailing the discussion.

Same. Even playing with 3840x1620 with 120% render scale AND with DLSS. This is pitiful, and 80 FPS feels like 40, this game is just not REALLY not well put together.

Interior spot shadows are super jagged. Looks like pinstripes all over everything.

I saw someone on Call of Duty Vanguard (different engine, I know) who said that turning them to low would solve the jaggies. But I haven’t had a chance to try yet.

Only that looked jagged to me was reflections in mirrors. They look hella bad, not sure why that is. In the opening scenes when in ellies room looking in mirror it looks hilariously bad.

For performance reasons I also tried playing at 1440p and confirm the game looks terrible.
4k seems to be a bare minimum to actually enjoy ultra graphics.

I find with native res and FSR off the weird reflections and shadow artifacts mostly go away. I'm at 4k though, maybe that helps.

It's annoying to play at 60 instead of 90 when FSR looks pretty good otherwise. Hopefully they patch it.

Watch digital foundry video. Most certainly doesn’t go away.

Here's the solution:

Before loading the game, in nvidia control panel go to Manage 3d Settings, then under DSR Factors enable both the "DL" resolutions.

In windows display settings, choose one of the new DL resolutions as your desktop resolution. Higher is better, you can try both to see what gives the best performace/quality tradeoff.

Load the game, and enable DLSS. You'll have both good performance and good antialiasing.

Optionally you can disable sharpening to get a more correct image that looks less frazzled, google "The Last of Us: Part I - TAA fix reddit". Only disable Sharpening, not TAA.

I dont have a great screenshot of reflections but they do look great unless in an actual mirror then it it a little jaggy.

I said mostly, and I don't need to watch their video since I can see it right in front of me with my own eyes.

Depth of field is also bugged during gameplay, when you aim with DOF on, the gun turns into a pixelated mess, like PS3 graphics bad....
