Dead Space Remake, Hogwarts Legacy, Wild Hearts and now this. I give up on AAA games on PC
Yup. State of AAA PC games nowadays. God forbid a good port being release on day 1. Learned my lesson with Hogwarts Legacy. Thank god I didn't pre-order this abomination. Console is the less hassle way to play video games nowadays.

Never played Hogwarts game (just never got into Harry Potter). But was the dead space remake considered bad? I played through it on my PC and other than those hitches when its streaming in a new area it was rock solid performance wise, not a single crash either. And personally I never really noticed that hitching thing unless I was just running non stop from one place to another. It's a bummer its there but I wouldn't say it compromises the experience of the game.

Wild Hearts I played ~2 hours of through Gamepass PC. I just really didn't like the main char and that glove thing they never seemed to stop talking. But I do remember being impressed with that one running perfectly. No stutter.

And I'm playing RE 4 Remake right now about 7 hours in. Looks amazing, and runs great.

Things were great before consoles came along. Consoles are the curse of the PC gamer. Just say NO to consoles and then we will start getting epic PC games again.

Or maybe PC games will just seem epic because people won't be comparing them to the smooth performance you can get on a $500 console that it's been optimized for.

If you want to play epic games that aren't console ports, maybe try Star Citizen. Sure it runs like crap on even the best machine and it's buggy as hell, but it's PC exclusive right from the start 10 years ago.

No they weren't. I'm actually old enough to remember both old home computers AND systems like Intellivision (which I got as a gift around release day when I was like 7 years old). Console has always been more accessible. Not necessarily as powerful, but always accessible. Although in the case of the PS5, it actually is more powerful than a lot of pretty modern rigs.

Interesting seeing Hogwarts worked fine with no crashes on my wife's 10900k/3090, but this game crashes constantly for her.
Just for peace of mind I stress tested the whole machine, rock solid stable, will play anything besides TLOF, guess it's her hardware....

Nope 100% wrong. I remember when PCs and Consoles were very different entities and games ran fine on both platforms. Especially during the the 8bit and 16bit and up to the PS2 era.

I had zero issues with the Dead Space remake. It ran so flawlessly I was shocked. Same for thee RE4 remake, both of these were golden ports.
