Naughty Dog, PLEASE fix 100% CPU usage. That's all I ask.
I can deal with the low frame rate but I don't want to kill my CPU so please fix it. I'd be so ever grateful!

UPDATE

Evidently the CPU usage goes up to 100% whenever I am standing somewhere or when I am in the main menu. When I move around or when I'm fighting/ shooting the usage is below 70%

Also the FPS is more stable now but the mouse stutter is still there. I tested moving the mouse slowly and it seems to work okay if you're using low sensitivity. I also tested by connecting xbox controller and it removed the stuttering completely when I play with a controller.

Overvolting will also damage the components.
Other than that, it's all good to have your CPU/GPU working at 100% capacity.

You're wrong. Modern CPUs are not designed to run in a PL2 mode for longer than minutes. Beside the obvious problem of extra high power consumption (and extra heat as a result) it can cause throttling, especially on a gaming laptops with their
poor cooling solutions.
That's what I've been saying all the time. You answered the heating issue yourself.
As long as you can disipate the generated heat, there will be no damage done to either the CPU or GPU running at 100%.

Disable half your cores or hyperthreading. That will fix 100% usage,

As people mentioned only voltage or heat can “break” the components and unless faulty they have safeguards in place to prevent the temp from getting too high such as throttling down clocks

Heat causes thermal paste dry out, which as a result degrades its heat conductivity properties.

Most ridiculous comment I've seen here lol

100% doesqn't mean anything,
sometime my CPU is at 100% but 60°C
sometime it is a 100% but 65°C
sometime it is a 100% but 70°C
CPU usage is more complexe than just 100% = max
seem like some operation make CPU heating more than other

According to the in-game performance overlay this game is using around 4-7% of my i5-13600KF (non-overclocked) during actual gameplay. I only saw 100% utilisation across all 14-core / 20-threads while the shaders were being compiled, which took around 30-35 minutes to complete.

i got correct temp at ingame after shader compiled, but their should fixe their shader compiling, it's not the first game with compiling shader, i even am accustomed with it on rpcs3 i have a lot of shader compiling time and it never get that hot like TLoU shader compiling

No 100% After Build Shaders almost 100% usage cpu 70-90% and sometime up to 100% this game usage too much.
GPU around 40-50% I try drop to 1080p cap 60fps this game EATING CPU SAME result at 4K 2K 1080P CPU 80-90%

From the patch notes it looks like dev team is acknowledging and are trying to fix the shader compilation.
The original game on PS5 takes just a few minutes to compile shaders as far as I can recall...

Then that's normal I can't see why people would have an issue with that. What I don't get is why people with decent specs were seeing the shader compile take over an hour. That's ridiculous I would have force closed the game and refunded it right away. No game on PC has ever done that.

That's exactly what I'm saying. None has ever done it and none should. Why can't it be like every other game, you click play and you play xD

No shader building, no 5 minute loading screens. Simple.

Also why bro? why should it use 100%
Not a single game that I have player EVER used my CPU at 100%

My GPU is actually fine with the game, it didn't even go above 8GB of VRAM. And I didn't have to tweak any options. And here people are talking about how their VRAM is overloaded. The way I see it. I think it's different for everyone, so that's 100% poor game optimization.

Shader compilation on consoles are marginally faster because there is only one spec they need to adhere to. It's also the reason why when emulating console games PCs need to compile the shaders themselves as each pc build is different.

Can you show us a screenshot of your current settings so we can see the VRAM usage?

lol if seen it go towards 50% on those games :D
