How do I swap pipe / bottle?

I've got a pipe or board, I see one on the ground that's in better shape. I see the prompt that says "swap" with the middle mouse button icon. I'm using using custom layout 1 and I always use middle mouse for interact in every game.

When I click or hold middle mouse, nothing happens.

I have the same issue with bottles and bricks. If I have one of those, I can't "sawp" it for the other even though I do see the prompt. If I throw the one I have I can then pick up the other.

Am I suppose to push another key too?

Is this a keybind bug because I'm not using the default layouts?

Or is it just a game bug?

FFS! It is a bug.

After posting this I thought to test it myself. I set the keybinds to default and I can swap weapons with the default E key just fine.

Looks like I'll just have to rebind the mouse buttons with Xmouse due to yet another game with bugged keybinds :(

have you tried 1 to 9 buttons? not the NUM buttons

Had same bug. I prefer to use mouse button 5 for interacting but couldn't swap stuff. After reading this thread, added E key as secondary binding and now can swap stuff. Thanks!
