Game unplayable due to constant crashes even in safe mode
I don't know what else I can do. I've updated all my drivers to the latest, even updated the motherboards BIOS. The game just keeps on randomly crashing after between 10 seconds and 1 minute at the main screen. I've tried Safe Mode and it still crashes. I cannot even change any settings as the game crashes before I get to do anything. I don't have these issues with other games. Is this happening to anyone else? How do you fix it?

I have the exact same problem. Windows 11 pro, Ryzen 3700x, Rx 5700xt Sapphire Nitro+, Asus x570-p, Samsung 980 pro NVMe and 16gb of ram Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 1600 Mhz.

Are we talking booting into Safe mode on windows. Because Safe mode won't run games....
Daxos Mar 30, 2023 @ 3:52pm
No, not booting into Windows safe mode. When the game crashes it offers to launch in safe mode on next launch. I tried that, but it makes no difference either and the game just crashes DLSS on or off, settings on ultra or on low.
Specs are 13900k, Nvidia 4090, 64GB DDR 6400 ram.

Can you check Event Viewer > Custom Views > Administrative Events and look for nvlddmkm events at the times that you crashed? If you are getting Event ID 0 like me then you're probably also affected by Nvidia driver bug. Check my thread for more info if you have that event logged.

Also since you're on a 40 series and they seem to think it affects 30 series only, definitely report it to Nvidia support directly or through the feedback form in the forum I linked.

So the last time I crashed it actually turned into a BSOD while previously it was just a game crash. I have not given the game another try since, but since the shader compiling crash is supposed to be fixed now I'll try it again. Previously I have not even been able to complete the shader compiling

Just crashed again, BSOD. Ever since the last two patches the game doesn't just crash anymore but apparently causes a BSOD. I have not found any nvlddmkm issues (I've had those on other Nvidia cards in other games before) but instead I got this when the game caused the whole computer to crash:
The bugcheck was: 0x00000101 (0x0000000000000006, 0x0000000000000000, 0xffff9c014bc40180, 0x0000000000000004).

Are you playing this over hard drive? you should run a diagnostic check on it.

As for other advice, post your system spec (cpu, motherboard, ram, video card, ssd's/hdd's, psu), OS and version, video driver version and game verion.

No, I'm not playing the game from a hard drive.
Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Aorus Master Z690 mainboard, 4x 16GB GSkill DDR5 6400, MSI 4090, NVMe Kingston KC3000 OS drive, 2x NVMe Seagate Firecuda 530 4TB, Corsair 1300W Platinum PSU, Windows 10 Pro 21H2 19044.2728, Nvidia 531.41 driver and the latest game version 1.0.2.0?

I'm not having issues with any of my other games. Unfortunately the last two patches seemingly just made it worse by trading the constant CTDs with BSODs. I have not even gotten the shaders to compile past 16% as it usually just crashes before I can set up my key mappings.

I appreciate helpful comments, but considering Naughty Dog released at least 2 patches to fix crashes it's mighty bold to claim it's just people's computers and not actually the game causing these issues.
