Most of the time I get this error message in log:
assert-msg: Device removed with reason: 0x887a0006
The other message which I only have 2 or 3 times is this one:
assert-msg: Failed to CreateGraphicsPipelineState. Device removed with reason: 0x887a0005
Have you checked all cables? Make sure everything is seated properly. Including GPU.
Since you are using a 3090 but brand new CPU. Is the motherboard new as well?
What version of windows are you on?
Could be driver related. Run DDU and reinstall display driver 566.36 as 572 series is a mess. If you need a more up to date driver for a certain game thats ok.
Running DDU will remove previous driver/s completely and ensure a clean install. Like its being done for the first time on a newly installed OS. Just note that all control panel (app)/monitor settings will be reset. Shaders will have to be compiled again for this game and others after updating.
Here is link for DDU. Make sure to read/follow guide if unfamiliar. Its in the link. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5230
Once cleaned and display driver has been installed successfully. Reboot the PC even if not prompted. Once rebooted, open NVIDIA control panel, navigate to manage 3D settings, select Texture Filtering - Quality, and set this to performance. This should help give a bit more FPS and not degrade visual quality of the game.
Keep Re-Bar on, but keep HAGS off.
All Cables checked and ok.
Mainboard and CPU are new, Mainboard is a Gigabyte X870E PRO ICE with a AMD 9950x3D on it.
I'm using newest version of Windows 11.
I have followed your proposal, clean uninstall and install of GPU driver (566.36), 3D settings changed, Rebar turned on again and keep HAGS off.
With this settings the game crashes 10 times until now when it tries to build the shaders...
Unbelievable that I can play every game on UWQHD and max settings and this game does absolutely not work...
Have you checked for BIOS update for motherboard? Just note that there are 2 versions of this board. As Gigabyte released a new revision. 1.1. So make sure to download the correct one as there was a new BIOS released a couple of weeks ago for both 1.0/1.1.
Just make sure to default all settings before applying the update and than select the correct EXPO or XMP profile after its done. Leave everything else at default.
When checking BIOS. Make sure SAM (Smart Access Memory) is disabled.
Is the RAM new as well?
How was Win 11 installed? Clean via USB media creation tool? Or upgrade from Win 10? With or without internet? Did you let windows install all the drivers/chipset or was it done manually?
Do you have game installed on same drive as OS? Some stated this game is problematic when installed on a different drive. I assume you are using an NVMe?
Just to double check. When you say clean uninstall of GPU driver, this was done using DDU?
Try a clean boot? To do a clean boot disable all non essential services, programs and tasks from starting with PC. So use services (services app or system configuration app), tasks (task scheduler app, select task scheduler library), and startup items (task manager) to disable them.
Check all 3 areas. If anyone is enabled that software will run and could be causing conflicts with the game. Like some Razer software or GPU monitoring software can cause issues with performance and cause crashing in some games.
If you use an anti-virus, windows security, or data protection. Make exceptions to your game folders. This way it disables the scans and doesnt conflict with your games.
Yea, its odd. Something is going on that the game does not like. Do you have another GPU? You can swap and see if the problem follows. I know its a lot for just one game but itll remove that from the equation as well. But I wouldnt attempt this until all software troubleshooting has been tried.
but I was able to solve it.
After a BIOS update, I no longer experienced crashes.
Before the BIOS update, the game crashed every 10 to 20 minutes without an error message. I was simply thrown to the desktop.
I hope I could help.
