They did break after fsr 3.1 patch lol

Any chance you are using either FSR Upscaling and/or FSR FG? Just like what ViktorReznovTR stated, this issue is new with the recent patch. I can't say I have seen that at all using DLSS. Haven't tried exploring FSR though on my end.

I am using DLSS
Problem persist even without upscaling

Okay, dumb question, but have you validated the game files to rule out anything corrupt?

Validate game files was the first thing i did, no luck. Reinstall gpu drivers to rebuild shaders did fix the issue but after 30 minutes the issue reoccurs.

Okay, I know that they are sleeping, but might want to reach out to the developers. This was a new issue introduced with the FSR 3.1 feature, so they must have broke something somewhere.

I will try to mess around with the game to see if I can reproduce the issue. Unfortunately, I have not seen the issue myself, but I did see someone on another thread here with the same issue, I believe. No screenshots, but mentioned the flashlight issue, so the issue is most likely just the game.

could be graphical settings related. I have everything on max and it look fine.
I downgraded to 1.1.3.1 temporarily.

here is how you do it
Press WindowsKey+R, type steam://open/console, and hit OK.
In the Steam Console, run the following command:

download_depot 1888930 1888931 7149537440347319468

Wait for it to download and locate the depot at "Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_1888930\depot_1888931"

copy everything in the depot folder over to the main directory, DO NOT REPLACE click skip these files, only missing files will be copied over.
Replace "tlou-i.exe" file and launch the game.

Interesting approach. Did this solve your issue?

Awesome news. Well, that proves that the update broke it then. :P

Curious, what are your specs? Seems strange that this isnt a broader issue. An average of ~2K players daily since v1.1.4 patch but maybe 2 or 3 people have reported the issue here on the forum.

I'm wondering since you said it was working for 30 minutes before it stopped again. That it could be system specific issue.

What are your game settings? As your SS looks like textures are around Low/Med quality. Even with all the darkness. Do you have settings to low for light bounce?

You also said you reinstalled your display driver. What version are you using? Have you tried DDU before installing the display driver?

Have you used any mods in the past? As looking at your achievements, the last time you played was early 2024. Make sure any mod is updated or removed completely in order to avoid any conflicts.

As per this reply its not an issue with the game if its working for them.

I have high settings with ultra textures with DLSS 4 balanced, I updated gpu driver from 572.42 (February 13th) to 572.47 (february 20th). I did this to trigger a shader rebuild.

My Specs:
RTX 3070
Ryzen 5 7600X
32GB Ram
Game is installed on a Kingston KC3000 m.2 drive

I have not used any mods.
Hmm, since DLSS 4 is new and this game only supports 3.1 natively. Have you tried not forcing DLSS 4 thru driver?

So try it first with DLSS off and see if the flashlight works again. If so, than try game's native DLSS on quality. See if it works. Than try balanced. If all work than you know its something with forcing DLSS 4.
