Being better isn't how it works. It's only compatible with Windows 10 or higher, in much the same manner as paper is only compatible with pens or pencils. You're not going to write a letter with a coffee mug. Even if your coffee mug is better than a pen.

Well, I think the word "higher" in "requires windows 10 or higher" refers to windows version number, not a different OS operating similar or better than Windows.

The statement clearly indicated that it REQUIRES Windows to run, and the version must be 10 or higher.

I do not use Mint, But I do use Popos a branch of "Ubuntu" And I am able to run this game fine using Proton GE"Version 8.4...

Download ProtonQT to get updated protons for this game and various others.

Also may I suggest getting a different fork of linux? Such as Nobara, Reggeta, Popos and the such are great alts for using for gaming!

The most straightforward answer is Mint is a much older version of Ubuntu which already has trouble running things due to how old the software in their repos is. Some of the needed software in Mint is up to 15 years old and long since abandoned.

Use a more modern distro such as Fedora/Kinoite that has up-to-date support and games will run fine.

It's fun to meme, but honestly for gaming nowadays it is. That's why Valve are going so hard on developing for it and multiple major companies are all releasing dedicated gaming devices running Linux (that and not having to pay for Windows licenses). Even Microsoft is busy (poorly) integrating Linux into Windows and released their own Linux distro just recently.

The majority of games are click and play on any launcher with higher frame rate and stability than on Windows. The only games that don't run have lazy anti-cheat, or games that are so broken they don't even run on Windows.

Mint however is meant to be install and forget for office work, and most definitely not gaming. It's just far too ancient.
