New NVIDIA Drivers (572.16) break the game.
Exactly as the title suggests, we have ANOTHER driver issue. ffs.

EDIT: It seems to have affected my hardware. Idk what's going on. I'm going to do some investigation.

EDIT 2: I refreshed all my NVIDIA profiles after reinstalling 572.16. Seems to have worked?

Sorry to hear that. Me personally had no issues during my first playthrough in Nov 2024 on latest nvidia drivers. You can try installing October/November 2024 drivers and play like that.
I know it's kind of a crutch, but still

how exactly does it break? plain interest.

and yeh... not the first time i see random engines break by nvidia's hands. happens. i run october drivers too. playing just fine.
There was a lot of new features added to the driver. I would recommend running DDU and install it again, but driver only. See if it helps.
I think what they meant is 'breaks the game for them'

The driver covers multiple generations of GPU. It works fine for me and others, but we may have different hardware combinations.

That doesn't mean it doesn't have an issue, but it doesn't break the game.
I activated DLLS 4 for Last of Us through the nvidia app. It has excellent image quality. It constantly gives errors at the end of the game. The game needs to be updated.

So, you are saying you are using a third party app that negatively effects the game. Yet its the game's fault and needs to be updated? :steamfacepalm:

You mean, its NVIDIA that needs to update their app when forcing DLSS 4 and other features on a game to prevent issues.

However, this game is sponsored by AMD. Doesnt even support DLSS FG. So its not going to be updated to DLSS 4.
to those who installed the drivers and the game is working find that it looks a little better? Maybe i'm just imagining things, but I thought it seemed a little brighter and crisper. I didn't change any in game settings. I only made the change to the nvidia app that were suggested to make games use the latest version of DSLL. But in game I am running native 1440p w DLAA. Either way, looks good and seems to working fine post 572.16.

Yep, that was the point of DLSS 4. Games look and run better now.
In-game DLAA is still atrocious.
