The gameplay itself is also for hours the same in both parts but it makes fun.
I am/was a huge TLOU fan but tbh it's just so good because the friendships between the charachters are so important and because the world/atmosphere is pretty believeable. That's why part 2 for me was so bad, they just killed the first good aspect for me why TLOU was so good: The characters were incredibly annoying for me, both in the gameplay (Dina didn't move 3 meters from you and stuck to your ass the whole time and sometimes even started shooting random, although you wanted to be quiet...) and the characters in general were incredibly annoying , because for the most part it was just teen drama for Ellie's part. A little bit smoking grass, a little bit "bro, wadduuuup?", a little bit "ooh i love you soo much :(". Dude, i did not feeled to play TLOU.
Add to that the unbelievable misconceptions of the characters that you want to take a pregnant person on a dangerous trip twice.
Then again, he didn't provide any further input of why he thinks so.
I like the game too and played it 3 times in a row. Definitely looking forward to replay it once more on PC. :)
But there are actually no games which I would call a "masterpiece". As that's highly subjective, like everything which relies on taste.
I previously called Dishonored 2, the Mass Effect series and Enderal that, but then again I played vastly different games recently which I enjoyed far more.
So yeah... Pretty subjective even for my own evaluation. ^^
I wanted to see how the story progressed, how Joel would come to terms with his loss and how he planned to reconcile his emotions moving forward, how he would respond to "the package" ( Ellie ) throughout the story and his interactions with her.
I enjoyed the game thoroughly, I didn't get to play it on ps4 or ps5 as I don't own those systems, So when tlou was announced for pc I was like hell yeah!
As for replayability, there's the different modes you unlock such as permadeath mode, and the different visual filters, photo mode, gameplay changes such as OHK, infinite ammo and so on, Plus there's also the inclusion of the prequel dlc too, which I also didn't get to play.
You're not special and neither is your opinion, if you believe otherwise you're a moron.

Quite diplomatic response. :)
Days Gone is the same, it has the worst combat feel & mechanics I've ever seen in a zombie game, and I've played pretty much all of them. Their focus was clearly on the story, not gameplay.
People who like this game mostly do so for the in-game drama and not the gameplay. The general consensus regarding the tv show is that it's practically a copy of the game. So I guess we're better off watching that.
