What you can try is first download driver 24.12.1 from AMD. Than run AMD cleanup utility to uninstall previous driver. Than install new driver.
Here is link to AMD Cleanup Utility:
https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/GPU-601.html
OR, run DDU to completely remove display driver. Running DDU will remove previous driver/s completely and ensure a clean install. Like its being done for the first time on a newly installed OS. Just note that all AMD control panel (app)/monitor settings will be reset and whenever you update the display driver the shaders will recompile for this game and others.
Here is link for DDU. Make sure to read/follow guide if unfamiliar. Its in the link. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5131
I've already tried DDU then a fresh driver install off the AMD site. It's the Adrenaline software causing the issue, I'm 99% certain of it. All other games work with no issue with Adrenaline installed. I will try it again but it's a really strange issue only affecting the one game. GPU usage goes up to 100% like it's locked into some sort of cycle then adrenaline reports a GPU crash a few seconds later. I hate software glitches. 😂
I've read on other forums that SMA can cause issues. Might be an idea to try disabling that in adrenaline first.
Update, just played for 1.5 hours without any crashing. Running 1440p and ultra settings.
Note: running on 7800xt
Animal_PLANET appears to know far more than I can hope to. Hopefully they can help you when they come back online.
>>>>>Basically what did it for me is deactivating the FSR from DISPLAY settings and setting ANTI-ALIASING back to DEFAULT. Feel free to try it out yourself.
Unfortunately this should be on reddit where people can find it, not steam.
I find it unacceptable that this kind of issue is out there so many months after launch.
I'll see how it goes from here.
Once I finish the main story I install Adrenaline back on, and see if the crashes persist. For now, I only had everything turn dark but no GPU crash and restarting the game was enough.
Here was that reply again but without the link I had in there. Maybe thats why steam blocked it. Which was from AMD explaining how to install the driver only. Which seems you did that anyway. So I guess let us know if you have anymore issues.
There wont be a next patch as game seems to have ended support. As last patch was 8 months ago which only updated to FSR 3 and AMD has not added support for FSR 3.1 for this game. So it would be up to AMD I guess but I wouldnt hold my breathe,
If you still have issues with your PC. If this band-aid doesnt hold well. Please make a new thread, list the issues you are having, what you tried so far to fix them, and post your full specs along with OS, PSU, and CPU cooler. We will try to help you out.
The game does not have a memory leak. If the game crashes at same point every time for you. Try to lower your graphic settings and see if you can get past it. As this is usually a sign of bad driver or possible heat issue.
