Assuming you are saying you’re glad there is no multiplayer, I kind of agree because if they released it, it would have taken future Naughty Dog games away from players. They are one of the most talented studios when it comes to making high quality cinematic single player games with an emphasis on storytelling and beautiful character models and environments. It would be a shame for that to end just to release another live service multiplayer game into a crowded market where Naughty Dog might not even be that great at making games in that genre. But they still could have released an updated factions mode for people who want to play without any micro transactions. They even could have sold it as a DLC for $20 and people would have been happy.
So the 1st game had multiplayer but didn't really impact them that much...
They said as much themselves if you would have read the link that I shared with you earlier. The multiplayer mode became its own game and was planned for its own standalone release. The scope increased drastically during development. Just do a little research before posting, please.
I get that theoretically, they could have made a small multiplayer component for TLOU Part 1, but I guess they didn’t see any value in dedicating dev time and network infrastructure for a small additional mode in a game that most people will buy for the single player component. If you really have access to a PS4 Pro like you mentioned in the other thread, you can still play factions there in the 2014 remaster of The Last of Us, the multiplayer mode is still up and running last time I checked. You probably should play it soon though because I can see Sony discontinuing support for that in the next year or two.
I did share the link from ND where they explained the whole thing just a couple of hours ago and it’s pretty likely that you did not read it or you would not have said what you said. All I’m saying is the info is out there. You were in another thread saying the Steam release was exactly the same as the PS4 version and now this. Sorry if I’m being harsh but you just seem to be uninformed about this game and saying things that are wrong. It’s actually you who is making a lot of incorrect assumptions that wouldn’t be necessary if you just read up on the game for 10 minutes or searched about it on YouTube.
You mean like above where I mentioned that you should play factions on your PS4? I never assumed anything about you owning the original game because it’s not really relevant to this conversation because we’re talking about the 2023 version of the game and the standalone multiplayer game that was cancelled.
