There is an updater for RZ09-0409*, but it seems it is not compatible with my system.
Possible corrupted save or config file. With game closed. First turn off steam cloud for the game. Than delete everything in the user ID folder which can be found here:
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\The Last of Us Part I\users\<user-id>\
This will reset everything and give a clean start. See if it helps get past this issue. Before doing this. Backup any saves in there just in case.
Just tried it and didn't work. I've also tried reinstalling the game to no luck. It still crashes when I create a new story, right after selecting the difficulty. It does show it has created something, but if I try to "continue" it just crashes again.
Hmm, Open event viewer app. Go to windows logs> application and see if a report has been generated at date and time of event. Than look for a general tab towards the bottom. It should list faulting module name and path. It should help give an idea what is causing the crashes. If a report was made that is.
Are you on Win 10 or 11? If 11, did you use the upgrade process from Win 10?
Try these suggestions.
Reinstall NVIDIA driver 566.14, but before you install, run DDU to remove first.
Here is link for DDU. Make sure to read/follow guide. Its in the link. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5100
Running DDU will remove previous driver/s completely and ensure a clean install. Like its being done for the first time on a newly installed OS. Just note that all NVIDIA control panel (app)/monitor settings will be reset and whenever you update the display driver the shaders will recompile for the game and others.
There maybe Razer software running that is causing an issue with the game. Try a clean boot. A clean boot will remove any potential conflicts with other software running in background. So disable all non essential services, programs and tasks from starting with PC. So use services (services app or system configuration app), tasks (task scheduler app, select task scheduler library), and startup items (task manager) to disable them.
Check all 3 areas. If anyone is enabled that software will run and could be causing conflicts with the game. This will also help free up system resources in general.
If you got a Windows update. Make sure it is on latest public build. No insider, preview, or optional updates.
Disable windows game mode, game bar, and game captures.
If you use an anti-virus, windows security, or data protection. Make exceptions to your game folders. This way it disables the scans and doesnt conflict with your games and take away system resources as you are playing. Which may be causing the slowdowns.
Yep, thats exactly why its always good to do a clean boot. As gaming software sometimes interferes with games. Pretty funny how that works out, but quite frustrating at the same time.
You are welcome and glad I could help. Happy gaming!
That fixed it for me too lol, wtf is wrong with that app!! :D
