Its 2024, is the game worth it?
I am eyeing for a sale to buy this game but a bit reluctant on how much ram and vram it eats on a normal day. Considering the system usage, is the game worth it? story-wise/combat-wise?

I've also heard good things about dualsense support, I have one as well and the in Returnal the raindrop feels and shooting makes it surreal - breathtaking even.

So, what's the judgement on this game?

It's definitely worth it if you have decent, modern hardware. The story in part 1 is excellent. The dualsense support is the cherry on top. You can feel the dualsense trigger get tense when your using the bow and arrow. Same thing with all the guns too. I wish Nixxes did the port instead of Naughtydog and Garbage Galaxy though.

I recently completed a play through and am now slowly playing new game+ on a harder difficulty. I have really enjoyed my time playing this.

It has lots of tense moments and the story and characters are truly well crafted.

Combat is fun, blowing the head off a zombie with a shotgun at point blank range feels exciting and creeping around so as not to get ambushed by multiple enemies, taking them out one by one is very cool. Stealth is done very well in this game and AI can get very sneaky.

You really can't go wrong with this title, it's so well done in every aspect I can think of, even visuals are stunning.

Worth it? It's a full modern remake with one of the best graphics. What a strange question...

Its a remake but not the kind of remake most people wanted. They basically did a one to one copy but with updated graphics using the new engine. They didn't even implement the dodge or prone in combat. And they didn't make the levels any bigger. The game looks next gen but it still feels like an old game in certain aspects.

It's impossible to implement new mechanics with the old game/level design and there is no need.

And no, this remake is exactly what players wanted: modernized graphics and a few minor QOL changes.

That is ridiculous. And the game was remade "From the Ground Up," so they chose not to update that stuff. There's no reason why they couldn't add a dodge and prone. Prone could've been used a couple of times. Dead Space remake was a true remake.

What is ridiculous? It's a fully new engine, models, textures, etc. Redoing the level design and many mechanics would go WELL beyond the scope and is totally unnecessary. Game is great as it is.

Full price no. Half price on sale or from CDKeys, totally.

Looks great, plays great, has decent KB/M controls and (now) runs well too.

The only reason its not worth full price is it's still a 10 year old game.

I think so...

Played the game 3x since I bought it a few months ago. I'm thinking about playing it again. I believe its an amazing game. Even if its over a decade old now. The storytelling in the game is amazing. The remastered graphics are immersive. As long as you have the hardware. I have a 3080 GTX, with an i7 Intel 1100h, 32mb ddr4 3200 dual channel MSI gaming laptop. Using an external Gigabyte curved monitor. I play in 2k resoultion 1440p, everything on high with little lag. I also paid full price.

Hey thanks for mentioning about cdkeys, are prices always the same on cdkeys or do they also have sale? Like rn deluxe goes for 35$ which is a steal as this game hasn't gone 50% off yet.

So did Motive Studio go well beyond the scope with the Dead Space remake? Or was what they did totally unnecessary too?
