y'know, build hype from the TV series to drum up sales.
I get that it boosts the sales, but I'm still puzzled as to why consumers tend to respond that way. I mean watching the show first also spoils the game's story, while if you play the game first, why watch a show with a plot you already know? (Personally, I have played TLOU Part 1 and enjoyed the story for the most part, but did not watch the show as there are so many good shows I haven't seen with plots I'm not familiar with.)
Yeah, but investing so many hours only to see how well they made it? I guess I have too little free time on my hands as I prefer to spend it on something that offers genuine, novel excitement.
