Now launch the game, let it compile shaders. Once completed exit the game. Then restore your pcs power setting back to normal, launch the game and set the graphics to what you prefer.
The game will now run without any problems. It is just the compiling shaders part of when you first launch the game that crashes the game all the time. Which is avoided by following the steps above. Once those shaders are compiled you don't have do that again.
This shouldnt be necessary, sounds like some type of instability/flaw in your system if building shaders is crashing the game. I've never done that and my systems (mulitple PCs and Steam Deck) haven't crashed building shaders (must've gone through the process over 15 times by now), even back in March when the game was still in rough shape. Also, setting graphics settings to low shouldn't effect anything anyway except for the window being rendered in main menu background. Maybe you need a new CPU cooler or something.
Its not the game that causes the crashes. Its people who have CPU's that run too hot during the shader process as the game will use all cores close to max. So if you have inadequate cooler this can cause instability, crashing, or system restart/shutdown.
