Linking Steam and PSN accounts for this game doesnt unlock anything, but for games like horizon forbidden west and ghost of tsushima it will.
SONY will most likely have their own launcher on PC some day. Especially for how good its doing. But if they only have their games on there. It may affect sales with all the fanboys.
They could even pull a Ubisoft and make them exclusive to their launcher/store before releasing to Steam with no achievements. I can see that happening as well.
Yeah, they want to not give 30% of the sale to Valve, which would be the driving force behind the decision (plus the fact that EA, Ubsisoft, Battle.net, etc are all doing it too). But they’ll have to offer something to incentivize the buyer- maybe a cheaper price, free DLC, PS5 version with the purchase, or something (maybe just timed exclusivity on PC). It will be interesting to see what they try. But yeah it annoys me that Avatar game still isn’t on Steam yet.
I dont think theyll need much incentive. Only to Steam fanboys who will cry about yet another launcher, but players like me well be happy to play on PC regardless. If its full price at release I can always wait for sale if I dont feel like paying that current price. Just like it is now. No biggie.
Well, looking at previous Ubisoft exclusives like AC Valhalla and FC6. It took about 2 years for those to come to Steam. So, Avatar may not release until sometime next year at their going average. Seems like its selling well without Steam being in UK top 5, but not much has been talked about it in sales. So who knows.
