First time was my uncle who hated gays. My biological family is very traditional and religious. My uncle thought me coming out at 12 was some way to "seek attention." He told me if I want to be gay I am going to learn what it feels like. The rest is sickening and I can't describe the details here.
Second time was in 2022 when a wealthy friend of mine asked me to visit him in Dubai. He told me I would be safe in Dubai. Boy, he was wrong. I went to a party there one night, I told a few people there I was gay. Checked into a hotel room that night, two men broke into the room, and the abuse started from there. Police did nothing but laugh at me. They told me I deserved it.
Get off your high horse. You're acting as if YOU are well adjusted and rational. A gay man tells you he's been through hell and back. and your only concern is your own feelings. All you do is bash other people, and then turn around and say "Oh my mental health," and "So many people in the steam discussions are so irrational." You're no better than anyone else in here, so yeah, reality and your perception are not matching.
You then talk negatively about conservatives, and as a liberal you don't look much better. The pot calling the kettle black. NewsFlash: The world does not revolve around you.
Thanks, I appreciate the condolence.
I appreciate you defending me. The user you speak of has many demons inside of it.
I’m not responsible for what was done to him, and saying I’m sorry seemed pointless and empty since I’m a stranger to him and he is one to me. And I’m more well adjusted than most of the people whose comments I read. You have your opinion and I have mine.
If you are so "well adjusted" you wont even be on here having these sort of discussions, since, you know, you're better than all of us? tsk tsk tsk
I never once said that I was better than anyone, only that other guy used those words. And I don’t think that participating in online discussions has any bearing on if someone is or isn’t rational or well adjusted.
I see these discussions get used primarily for 3 things overall.
1) farming awards using bait posts
2) complaining about “woke” games
and/or using it as an excuse to turn the discussion into a political one.
3) telling people that they’re dumb or poor for having “potato” PCs. Any issue with optimization of a game gets blamed on the end user’s hardware.
I don’t think those are positive uses of the forums and they take away from what might have been otherwise helpful/meaningful discussions. People have a right to post idiotic nonsense and I have a right to acknowledge what I think it is.
So, I do think people, certain ones who engage in specific behavior do have some issues. But I wasn’t taking about everyone and never oversimplified the language to use the word “better”. That’s another common theme in here- destroying any type of nuance and boiling everything down to an extreme, simplified version of itself.
This is where the woke community looks hypocritical. They expect everyone to accept them, but they don't want to accept everyone else. They want to be understood for their inability to remain true to their word, but they bash other people (conservatives) for being consistent.
Woke people want everyone to accept their pronouns, but they fail at accepting reality. The woke community needs to do better.
I’m just one person, not part of any “woke” community and I’m not representing or speaking on behalf of anyone but myself. And I’ve not asked anyone to “accept my pronouns” or accept me as a person. This is a an online discussion, not a community. I don’t care if you accept me or not.
Enough with the lies. Last summer, you were ticked off when someone did not accept your LGBTQ friend on Steam. This friend of yours states on it's profile "I am at 10." You were so pissed off that you and your sidekick James initiated an entire campaign against the person who rejected your LGTBQ friend.
