nawww fam gotta play it with a controller a. ps5 controller if you do
It generally comes down to personal preference, Sony tends to do a decent job with at least the default MKB layout in their ports. I would say that aiming is usually better and more precise with a mouse, rather than the right analog stick. That said, it plays well with a controller (especially a PS5 Dual Sense), I think you need to turn off Steam Input (and use a wired connection) if you want adaptive triggers precise Haptic Feedback just like on PlayStation. The gameplay and mechanics in this are so simple that I don’t think either control option would make a big difference, except aiming because this game has some serious weapon sway compared to a FPS, you have to collect supplements to level up Joel to be able to aim precisely.

Your aim is way more precis with the mouse and it all feels more smooth.
I played the game on 4 Playstation with a controller
and then with MK on PC and i would never ever use a controller for this game again after that.
Mouse and keyboard is the way to go

If its a shooting game i prefer M+KB IF its smooth so i can aim easier (without assist). It usually takes a while before ports get decent mouse feeling.
This has now good mouse support i think.

I remember trying to play Uncharted with M+KB when it launched and it was horrible laggy. Controller worked fine.

Game like God Of War i prefer controller.

Game recommended that I play with a controller, so I took out my XBOX Elite controller and it plays fine. Haven't tried keyboard and mouse yet, although I do tend to prefer those (and I played using them on other games like God of War and Dead Space that also have a third-person view like this one). I think I'll just stick to the controller until I've completed the game after which I'll uninstall it and go to something else...

When people intend to look at something in real life (like a target you need to shoot), you don't think "let me keep turning to the right until I finally focus on what I intended to focus on" (controller), you instead just "snap" quickly to your exact intended target (mouse).

Controller is inferior in every way to this type of a game.

Let alone imagine holding your keyboard while you try to use it with one hand, which is conducive to all sorts of nerve injuries as you're using muscles 100% of the time to stabilize your "controller". Keyboard and mouse positioned properly allows you to play with no worry about "health" that they have to warn you about every time you boot a console that uses controllers.

Let alone the shortsightedness (or ignorance) of game developers that realize people can easily hook up a mouse and keyboard to their gamebox, but refuse to allow he game to use it instead of a controller, and hence you have to jump through hoops to connect one to your game of choice anyway with a special hardware that lets you use it anyway.
