My guess is they changed texture compression in some way, to reduce stuttering caused by asset loading. Therefore we have to download all the texture assets again.
Hopefully it actually makes a difference.
My build is
RTX 3060ti
I9-9900kf
64gb ram 3600mhz
I wasnt able to play on high settings @1440p before due to high vram usage. Now my vram is sitting comfortably at 6900mbs/8000mbs with only dynamic objects texture quality and visual effects texture quality at medium settings. everything else is on high @1440p. i did frame lock at 60fps but got gpu utilization at around 90% and cpu utilization around 40% and no problems or crashing yet. I say this patch did an amazing performance optimization job.
And just between us: What exactly would I gain from lying to you crybabies? I've said enough times that the game runs smoothly for me. If my system was worse than specified, then that would only mean that even with a crappy system, I can get the game to run and you can't.
If you really want to discuss this out, then add me but stop spamming in so many threads with your provocative ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Funny enough, that you say in your profile, that you are nice to people, who ain't toxic but you are the most toxic person i have ever saw in this forum here. Always crying how bad this game is running, always lurk on people's profiles only to find something you can insult them with.
Maybe you just need to search for another hobby if you are not rich enough for a better PC. Oh, and just in case you think my internet is bad. I am downloading the patch with almost 70mb/s. How much got you?
My goodness, this forum is nothing but a dumb circus. Really.
Patch 1.4 shaders would take roughly 20-25 minutes to compile, and on patch 1.5 it took in-between 15-20 minutes to compile. Overall, its a lot faster.
(Patch 1.4)
Performance...right now I'm in the highway area to the St Mary's hospital. On max settings with DLSS on Quality, I'd get around 45 to 50+ fps. The whole David scene played at around 80 to 100+ fps - it seems the highway area on the way to the hospital is very demanding. I'm currently right past the giraffe scene, which was running at a solid 60/70fps, we'll see whats it at now on 1.5.
(Patch 1.5)
Runs a lot smoother now, I see about an 5-10fps improvement, to the point where I can turn off DLSS and run at a solid 60/70. Still not the best, considering this hardware even in laptop form should be able to push 80 - 100 fps at all times - but its a improvement.
(I did also notice a decrease in texture quality...might be a placebo effect, but it looks worse than before. Everything is maxed.)
latest windows 11 build
i79700k @ 5ghz 32 gig ram 3600 3080 10gb
...and yes this was after the hooooooge update
Man i can play EVERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game on 4k max details with over 100FPS and this game runs indoor with 60fps :-D :-D even DLSS seems to do nothing big, only 10fps more....
With DLSS i get heavy stuttering but found a tip on reddit which solves most of the stuttering (but only with native)
Set Spotlights Shadow Resolution to low, this fixes most of stuttering on nativ resolution.
