system specs?
I was playing the game, having a great time. Settings on Ultra and getting a steady 60 to 80 fps. Then about 3 to 4 weeks ago, it just stopped launching. All that happens now when I click play is a flash of a cmd.exe window opens and closes, the game syncs to cloud and that's it.
seems to be a launcher malfunction? have you tried to run the tlou-i.exe itself?
Yes, I've tried anything you can think of. ND replied to my ticket with some troubleshooting steps but I had tried them all multiple times already. I am hoping the next patch solves the issue. One their "known issues" page there is a point nothing that "the game may be unable to boot despite meeting minimum requirements. Put it this way, if the next patch doesn't solve my problems, I will play "another version" of the game.
so... you play on minimum requirements? what are your specs then? not sure what could cause a launch failure tho. you checked the windows event viewer for errors? or you get a crash log? also... did this happen after a game update or driver update? many factors at play.
and... i doubt the "other version" will run better or at all. they are identical. if you have launch issues you will still have launch issues.
Set your Windows page file manually to a minimum of 32GB and a maximum size of 48GB.
Due to the VRAM limitations of the 3060Ti, you'll need to set game graphic settings to a medium/medium-high setting, turn down Draw Distance, and you should have no issues with playing the game once you have the page file manually set.
If this still doesn't work, then remove the XMP setting on your memory and set it manually. (Also make sure your BIOS has the latest update for your motherboard and CPU). If the above steps didn't work, then you have an issue with how your system is trying to pair page file with system memory with the video memory.
I was playing on Ultra at 1080p and a steady 60 to 80fps. I was having this issue before the 1.4 patch.
Specs are below:
i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz
32GB RAM
GPU: RTX 3070 Gaming OC
Windows 11
okay. then... what did you change, that it stopped working?
I9-11900k; 3080TI; 32gb RAM;
Uncharted, Hogwarths, Horizon, and other new games run without problems on my rig. I have never experienced ANY game that could not run on this rig. So, remove the game and toss it out, or take it back to the drawing board, and try to fix it so it could be ready to X-mas
