Yes, I took the gamble and bought the game after I made this post today. I played for one hour and everything went fine for me. Only the Building Shaders when you are in the main menu took for about 20 minutes.
I have rtx3070 ti and I7 12700k
I just don't understand everyone having problems, especially on high end rigs. Sucks for them though, I feel bad they can't enjoy the game.
This has been my normal experience with games too. Everytime a new game comes out and it gets neg-bombed for 'poor performance,' 99% of the time I never experience any of those issues and always have a smooth, problem-free experience. Happened with Calisto Protocol, Dead Space remake, Uncharted, Spider-Man, Returnal, etc.. So go figure.
For me, the game was well optimized out of the box. But 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 actually let me crank my settings from a modify High preset with some Ultra to a mostly Ultra preset with a few settings turned to high. DLSS Quality in all situations.
On 5800X, 48GB DDR4 3200 memory, 3060 12GB.
I noticed that. I wonder if those "Please Wait" blackouts are timed to be exactly as long as the cinematics — they seem longer.
