The Last of us “remastered” vs the last of us “remake”

Why is it that the last of us remastered received a 10 from ign , while the remake (which is essentially the same game but with much better graphical fidelity) received only a 9? Isn’t the remake better than the remastered version?

I’m assuming you had hoped they’d be adding more to the story, change the gameplay, or what? Btw what work went into the remastered version? Isn’t the remastered essentially an upgraded version of the original ps3 one? Yet it got a 10.

I watched the reviews for all 3 versions of the last of us. The only reason I can think of that this version got a 9 while the other two a 10, is because of : missing multiplayer, and when compared to other modern remakes (like resident evil series), this game wasn’t considered as good of a remake and didn’t have enough changes to make it a good remake. I’m hoping that this version is better than the remastered version, because we should really be getting the best version of the last of us.

cuz the remaster came out 1 year after the og not 10 years. i expected no story changes but some cut content couldve been restored, some areas couldve opened up more, gameplay couldve easily been copy and pasted from part 2, etc.

Got it! So you expected more from a remake 10 years later than what you got! So the changes weren’t that significant in your opinion. Since I’m playing it for first time I think I will enjoy anyhow.

Then why aren’t they just porting over and releasing the remastered version if that’s the case?
