confused about pre purchase

so i have pre purchased the game but when i went onto the store page i saw that there was now a digital deluxe edition, i didn't really get it since they worded it a bit confusingly, am i getting the left behind dlc even if i don't get the digital deluxe? or do i have to get that for the dlc. what does pre purchasing the base game get me, and what does purchasing the digital deluxe 15$ AUD actually get me? can someone just explain, thanks in advance

Digital deluxe just unlocks some ingame unlocks early, e.g skins, screen filters, additional crafting items.

Left Behind DLC is included regardless of the version you choose.

It's worded poorly but it is the same as it was on ps5, Deluxe and firefly editions just has certain things unlocked on loading up for the first time, vs the "regular" edition requiring you to complete the game to earn credits which you spend to unlock the unlocks that are included in the deluxe edition.

Yup that's right, we all get Left Behind dlc no matter what edition we purchased.

Deluxe stuff is just the normal ingame unlocks ( some of them ) that are unlocked immediately without requiring us to complete the game first.

But for those of us that have the standard, we can get the same unlocks just by completing the game.

I'm glad you asked that question. Thats exactly what I wanted to know. Standard version it is.

EVERYTHING in the deluxe can be obtained through normal gameplay, Think of the deluxe unlocks as "boosters" for your first playthrough, More crafting items to allow you to be more equipped against the infected vs me who will have to scavenge more items from the ingame world in order to have maximum bombs / molotov cocktails and so on.

Once I complete the game, I'll be awarded with ingame credits that I can then spend in the ingame store to unlock stuff such as extra crafting items, unlimited ammo, different visual filters, gun and character skins, model viewer models and so on and so forth.

ok thanks makes it very clear now, I didn't really understand the skin thing and different modes since the last version of this game i played was the remastered on ps4

Yeah, That's what I mean, It's worded poorly and doesn't state now that the regular edition has the left behind DLC.

Before the Deluxe was announced, It used to state on the store page description that it comes with the left behind DLC, but of course now the advertisment has changed to highlight the Deluxe edition unlocks, It gives the false impression that the left behind DLC is a Deluxe unlock only which isn't the case.
