Different clothing for Ellie and Joel

While I really like some of the available clothings to unlock, someone finally did it.

So apparently every different clothing than the "Default"-clothing breaks this scene.

I've installed the mod and Ellie's "Default"-clothing looks different, but still works in this scene:

I really like the idea of having different cloths, but it's a pitty that even the different base game skins, come up with such an issue. :(

Even the included bonus skins for Ellie screws with any cinematic that shows off her bite. It's not just the modded ones. When you first enable a custom skin the game advises you that it might break cinematic immersion and they recommend playing the game with default skins until you beat the game at least once.

The "Astro Bot" shirt is original. The mod does not change that one.

But I think there are only 3 scenes where she shows the bite.

1.) This one.
2.) The one where she tells David she's infected and shows him her bite wound.
3.) At the end of the game when she checks her bite wound.

4 if you include Left Behind DLC.
I enabled skins after the main game but before doing Left Behind and it gave me that warning and I was a bit saddened that they cheeped out and didn't bother doing an animation to show off the bite. But hey, if that's one of my big complaints with the game then they at least did something right (for my tier of hardware anyways).

In PS4-remaster, this scene is pre-rendered, while here it uses the engine to render it on the fly. ^^

I really like that they got rid of pre-rendered scenes so the cloths at least are also present in the cutscenes.

And yeah, for me that's also the one thing I can moan about. XD



That new Jak Hoodie now in black with the golden Dragons is killer.
Possibly my new favourite for her. :D

Apparently with the recent updates, something in the file structure for Ellie's outfits got changed.
Therefore Ellie's mod got updated. ;)

What didn't work?
I always use the same way of installing and it works for me all the time.
You can clearly see some of the new outfits in my screens (which surely replace the existing ones the screenshot is named after).

Be aware that you do NOT see a preview when choosing the skin.

Also do not forget to rename "sp-common.psarc" after you moved the extracted content into it.
Otherwise the content in that archive will be prefered AFAIK.

after 20 years of disrepair... you'd a thunk leather clothing would've made a giant comeback. considering biting the most immediate concern...

leather snake boots... why not leather pants jackets against infected teeth?

things like kevlar, nylon, polyester, etc... seem too far out of reach... seems the only 'chemistry' that matters in this world is gunpowder... i mean joel has been reduced to sugar explosives... rough world as far as chemistry....

even cotton is too much trouble as it requires large outdoors expanses... recipes for infected catastrophes...

so back to hunting... hunting brings leather... o well...

just one big dumpster dive of a world really

You don't need mods. They offer extra clothing in the game already.

The mod overwrites some of these, so it just exchanges some motives of existing assets.
