CPU Usage is still at 100%, Memory around 70-90%
Hi all,

So, I've grabbed all the updates, including the latest 531.58 driver from Nvidia and I still seem to be having the issue of high CPU usage. At this point I'm baffled as everyone else seems to be having a lovely time :(

CPU: i7-12700F
GPU: Geforce RTX 3080
Memory: 16gb
OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)

Lowered all my settings (but especially the ones that mention being CPU heavy) to Medium.

Any tips I can try?

what's the clock speed you're running at 100%. i have no xp with windows 11. i know the cpu sheduling is different. could be the issue. not sure tho.

Wait for more patches. Play something else for a week or two

Reduce DRAW distance will help CPU usage. May be your texture is too high for your VRAM limit and it will make CPU stressed to steam VRAM.

Capped the framerate to 80. Works like a dream now, thanks!

balance your settings in game resolution. i have a mix of high settings and ultra and dlss balanced gave me the perfect balance between cpu and gpu bound. barely any stutters.

9900K oc at 5ghz 32gb ram 3600mhz cl15-15-15-35 and rtx 3080 in 4k dlss balanced. vram is just under limit and its mostly smooth (well as smooth as this game can be right now).

when you see your frames having big dips thats mean your vram is full mostly. reduce some settings.

Always cap your framerate, always.
When a game is more GPU intensive, and less CPU intensive, uncapping mean the GPU will reach 100% before the CPU and you'll got "some" stutter. If a game is more CPU intensive than the GPU (like TLOU1), uncapping mean both will raise until CPU will max at 100% before GPU, and you'll have lot of stutter. This is not bad programming from the Devs, it's just, life!
