19-10900k/32gb ddr4/3080ti/installed on nvme
This game required both good CPU and GPU, and not too old too, from this or previous gen.
Memory leaks, poor memory management, shader compilation issues, mouse shuddering, terrible texture quality on anything below high. Naughty Dog has owned up to them all and said even now they're working on fixes.
Meanwhile sad bastards are dedicating their spare time to defending a video game.
it's not really perfect (yet), but... you are very unprofessional, tbh. lol
the game has seen some very good improvements the past week. you still on day one or running it on a potato? lame. sry bye
If you'd read my previous post you'd know I can run it fine, occasionally needing to force the shaders to recompile (because this port is a mess)
During testing the 4090 was getting sub 60FPS in 4K ray traced unreleased games. However, everyone ran out to send Jensen over 2K in most scalped instances, & proudly bought the card. There was a reason I didn't like this gen beyond technical specs, they are making each previous gen obsolete before they begin with DLSS fakery now.
60FPS 4K wasn't even the target this gen without DLSS3. It can get up to 600FPS in old games at 1080P, but 4K 60FPS for stuff today, it was not even aiming for, the 90 silicon die is shaved down even, because they want you buying the Ti version later.
The game is heavily CPU bound. Not only are you not the only one with this issue, everybody with a halfway decent GPU has this issue. The CPU determines your maximum frame rate in this game.
Fortunately for you, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900x is a 12-Core / 24 Thread CPU, which means you can actually get 90 FPS on the Last of Us.
4 Cores = 30 FPS
6 Cores = 45 FPS
8 Cores = 60 FPS
12 Cores = 90 FPS - (5900x)
16 Cores = 120 FPS
* Assuming a 4GHz average clock speed...
I max out at 122 at 4K, but that is absolute max, as in like some areas it only happens when staring straight up at the sky, it's a MAX.
I have a 5900X OC'd however, and that might be why..
10/10 recommend right as of now
