Uninstall Avast it's useless, just stick to Windows Defender, you really don't need anything else. We don't live in the pre Windows 7 times anymore. NOBODY needs 3rd party a/v software anymore.

Get uBlock Origin for your browser of choice, don't open "fishy" emails or browse "suspicous" websites. Change your passwords on a regular basis and/or use an app on your smartphone like "Authenticator" for 2 factor authentication. This is what you need to do, not install a 3rd party a/v software that slows down your system, shows you ads and annoys you. If you switch to Windows Bitdefender, all you have to do is keep your Windows up to date.

Uninstall Avast. it's useless bloatware these days. Windows Defender is ALL you need.

Avast used to be light, fast and good back in the day. I used it for years myself. Then it became a bloated, useless dead-weight. Just get rid of it.

Don't use Avast or any other third party antivirus. Your just throwing your money down the toilet. Windows 10 and 11 have their own inbuilt antivirus.

100% agree with this. Been using windows defender for years now with no issues.

If you have a Chrome based browser, Windows Defender even has a browser extension that monitors while you browse. I've never found that it slows anything down. It will flag odd things as viruses, but, if it does that, run whatever it it is through VirusTotal, just to be on the safe side, and, if that says it's clean then you add the file as an exclusion in Defender.

Just be careful where you surf and you should be fine
